Hearing Michael Linton say he wanted to et and discuss sothing, Aiden Taylor beca even more certain of the importance and urgency of the matter. Without any hesitation, he imdiately agreed.
"What’s going on?"
Harriet White ca in from outside holding a glass of milk and saw Aiden Taylor fully dressed as if he were going out. Since she hadn’t been in the room earlier, she was unaware of the call from Michael Linton.
Seeing him going out so late, and not knowing the situation, she thought sothing urgent and significant had happened. Her hand unconsciously tightened around the cup.
Aiden Taylor noticed Harriet’s tightening grip on the cup. After being married to her for over thirty years, how could he not see that she was worried about him?
"Nothing’s happened. Michael just called , said he couldn’t sleep and asked to join him for a drink." Not wanting to worry her any further or to be bombarded with questions, he told her a kind lie.
"Michael’s back?"
"Yeah."
Harriet’s question made Aiden suddenly rember that she didn’t know Michael had returned to Fla City, so to prevent her from asking further questions, he strode towards the room’s door.
Just as he reached the door, he turned back to look at her, "You don’t need to wait for to co back. I don’t know when I’ll be back yet."
With that, he stepped out of the room, and as soon as he was outside, he closed the door imdiately.
Aiden Taylor didn’t pause for a mont. With a soldier’s speed, he went downstairs and left the house, then quickly ran to et Michael Linton.
They hadn’t arranged to et at a bar, but in the garden of the Military District Compound. Both of them were fast; they practically arrived at the garden at the sa ti.
"Sorry to bother you so late."
At the mont of eting, Michael Linton keenly noticed that Aiden Taylor’s hair was wet. Without needing much guesswork, he could tell Aiden had just showered.
Thinking about how Aiden was already preparing for bed when he called, he felt a little embarrassed.

Aiden Taylor didn’t pay attention to other matters, his mind solely focused on what Michael wanted to discuss, dismissing the courteous talk and getting straight to the point, "Why did you ask to see ? Speak."
The Taylor Family and the Linton Family had been friends since their fathers’ generation, with both families always getting along harmoniously. The children were as close as real brothers and sisters.

The Daxton that Michael ntioned was the second son of the Taylor Family, also Aiden Taylor’s biological younger brother. He and Daxton had always been very close, closer than with their other siblings.
"Do you have news about that child?"
