After Sophia Wood left the Linton Family, she didn’t go ho but instead had Alice Turner leave first. She stayed at the entrance of the Military District Compound.
Sitting in her car waiting for noon to arrive, but today, ti seed to deliberately go against her, moving so slowly.
By five past eleven, she couldn’t wait any longer. With a hopeful attitude, she called Michael Linton.
To her satisfaction, not only did the call go through, but he also had ti, and even agreed to et with her imdiately.
After finishing the call with Michael Linton, Sophia learned he was at the Military Departnt, and she arranged to et him at a tea restaurant near the military district.
Upon receiving Sophia’s call, Michael Linton quickly changed out of his military uniform and left the Military Departnt, driving himself to the tea restaurant.
When he arrived at the tea restaurant, she had already chosen a relatively secluded spot and sat down. Seeing him walk in, she waved to him.
Although they had just t last night, it had been over twenty years since they last saw each other, and upon eting, there was a slight awkwardness between them.
"Did you co early?"
Michael Linton didn’t know what to say, so he awkwardly asked a question to break the sowhat awkward silence.
Sophia Wood shook her head, "I just got here too."
As she spoke, she raised her hand to point at the nu on the table, indicating for him, who had just sat down opposite her, to order.
"Two servings of Yangzhou Fried Rice! One serving of White Fungus Soup! One serving of Century Egg and Lean Pork Congee!" Michael Linton didn’t stand on ceremony; he picked up the nu from the table and simply flipped through it. He hadn’t really looked closely at the nu, but he ordered anyway.
He not only ordered for himself but also for Sophia Wood sitting opposite him.
"Please wait a mont!"
After Michael Linton finished ordering, the waiter smiled and left.
White Fungus Soup! Fried Rice!
These were Sophia Wood’s favorite foods. She hadn’t expected that after more than twenty years, Michael Linton would still rember them. Not being surprised or touched would indeed be a lie.
"You still rember I like these foods?"
She looked at the man sitting in front of her. Although he was no longer young, he still had a vibrant spirit.
"I have always had a good mory!"
Michael Linton’s mory instantly returned to more than twenty years ago, the scenes flashing through his mind like movie clips, one fra after another.
Hearing Michael Linton say this, Sophia Wood awkwardly tugged at the corner of her lips. She looked down at her hands resting on her lap, then raised her head again, no longer awkward, her expression returning to normal.
"I want to ask you for a favor, can I?"
Given their previously friendly relationship, she thought he would agree, but when she considered the relationship between the Linton Family and the Taylor Family, her confidence waned, and she was completely uncertain if he would agree to her request.
Michael Linton pulled back his drifting thoughts, looking at Sophia Wood sitting opposite him, "We don’t need to be so formal with each other. Just tell what you need, and I’ll definitely help you if I can."
After more than twenty years, he still didn’t feel the slightest unfamiliarity towards her; she seed so familiar and kind.
"Thank you!"
Sophia Wood looked at the man opposite her, thanked him, and then stated her request, "I hope you won’t tell the people from the Taylor Family about seeing and Lily. I don’t want any more entanglents with the Taylor Family."
