Over twenty years ago, those events had not been forgotten by Sophia Wood. All these years, she had buried them deep within her heart, simply not finding the chance to bring them to light.
Last night, unexpectedly seeing Michael Linton at ho, those mories buried deep within her heart surged forth all at once. She tossed and turned until the morning light stread through the gaps in the curtains into the room.
"I don’t agree with Lily marrying your nephew."
Sophia Wood voiced her opinion bluntly. Previously, she had already opposed this marriage because of Alia Linton and Fabian Hols. Now, knowing the close ties between the Linton Family and the Hols Residence with the Taylor Family, she was even more determined to object to this marriage.
Last night, Michael Linton had already noticed Sophia Wood’s reluctance. He noticed that it was not just because of his sister Alia Linton causing a scene.
Thinking about what she had just said to him, he surmised that it was likely due to the Taylor Family connection.
"You oppose Lily marrying Easton just because Easton is my nephew?" He said this deliberately, trying to provoke the truth from her heart.
"No."
Sophia Wood blurted out her denial of Michael Linton’s claim. This was exactly what Michael Linton hoped and expected to see, so he continued to provoke her, "No? Then why?"
He looked at her intently, waiting for her to reveal the true reason, so that he could logically continue with the next topic.
"Because... because I don’t want Lily to have any connections with the Taylor Family." Sophia hesitated for a mont, and finally, she spoke the words she had been holding in her heart.
After saying it, she let out a long sigh of relief, but she did not feel much lighter inside.
Michael Linton heard the truth he had been hoping for, but he neither felt happy nor proud, instead he beca heavier and more depressed.
"You don’t want Lily to have connections with the Taylor Family, but Lily is still Daxton’s daughter. How can Lily possibly dissociate herself from the Taylor Family?" He let out a long sigh and continued, "Moreover, you can’t sacrifice Lily’s lifeti happiness just to keep her away from the Taylor Family."
This was the result he least wanted to see, and he couldn’t just stand by and watch it happen.
After hearing Michael Linton’s words, Sophia Wood fell silent, not speaking for a long while. Just when he thought she wouldn’t say anything, she spoke suddenly, "This is her fate. After all, she is my daughter."
As she finished speaking the last word, she lowered her head, avoiding his gaze.
"Don’t forget, Lily is also Daxton’s daughter. She has Taylor Family blood in her veins, and that’s a fact you can never change." Michael Linton strongly disagreed with Sophia Wood’s perspective. Lily Turner was not only her daughter but also Daxton Taylor’s. She had no right to make decisions alone.

As she spoke, a look of sorrow and indignation appeared on her face, and a flash of resentnt in her eyes, all of which Michael Linton saw.
"Do you want Lily to experience the sa pain as you?" Seeing Sophia Wood’s nearly obsessive attitude, Michael Linton couldn’t help but ask in frustration.
