The person knocking on the door so late was Auntie Li, knocking to tell Easton Hols to answer the phone. The call wasn’t from anyone else, it was still his own father, Fabian Hols.
Easton Hols just wanted to disconnect the phone line to get so peace, but he didn’t rember that the phones were connected.
By doing that, only the phone in the room would be disconnected, while the one downstairs would still be connected.
"I know."
He shouted towards the door, but he didn’t show any intention of getting up to answer the phone imdiately.
"You should go answer the phone quickly."
Seeing the man next to her not moving, Lily Turner reached out to push him, reminding him to hurry and answer the phone.
"I know."
Easton Hols said he knew, but there was still no sign of him getting up, not even a slight movent.
Seeing this, Lily Turner pulled away from his embrace and lay back down. After lying down, she imdiately turned over, turned her back to him, and waved her hand, "If you know, then hurry, don’t disturb my sleep here."
After saying this, she perked up her ears to listen to any movent, but she heard nothing. She didn’t hear him respond, nor did she hear the sound of his footsteps leaving.
After waiting for a long while and hearing nothing, Lily Turner frowned in confusion, unable to hold back any longer. She turned her head to look behind her.
But where was anyone behind her? The person who was just sitting on the edge of the bed was now nowhere to be seen.
She turned over to lay on her other side and looked at the room’s entrance; the door was properly closed.
She peeked over to the sofa area, and she did not see his figure there either. Now, she couldn’t stay calm.
Having just lain down, Lily Turner sat up again, glanced around the entire room, but still did not see any sign of Easton Hols.
Thinking she hadn’t looked carefully, she took another detailed look around, but the result was the sa; she didn’t see him in the room.
When did that guy leave?! Why didn’t she hear a single sound?
She thought he might be floating, otherwise, how could he make no sound?
Just as Lily Turner was puzzled in the room, Easton Hols had already walked to the living room downstairs. He now wore a gloomy expression, walked over, picked up the phone, and said in a heavy tone, "I told you..."
"I know you can’t reach your mother, but I’m really at a loss. Can you think of so other way to find out where your mother is now?" Fabian Hols was anxious and interrupted eagerly before Easton Hols could finish speaking.
"Did you really just have a minor argunt?"
Fabian Hols had called several tis, and the tone seed extrely abnormal. Easton Hols had enough reason to doubt this point.
Was it really just a minor argunt, enough to be this anxious and worried? It wasn’t the first ti they had quarreled.
With this said, Fabian Hols on the other end of the phone imdiately fell silent, not making a sound for a long ti.
Seeing this, Easton Hols knew he had guessed correctly and decided not to waste further ti with Fabian Hols, "Wait for my news."
After saying this coolly, he hung up the phone with a snap, not waiting for the person on the other end to respond.
"Who was on the phone?"
At this mont, Michael Linton walked out of the room after hearing the noise. Seeing Easton Hols’s serious face, he guessed that sothing serious must have happened.
Easton Hols turned and looked at the person walking over, responding calmly, "It was him."
