After eting Michael Linton outside that day, Sophia Wood had nothing else in her mind except this matter, but she thought about it for several days and still didn’t know how to broach the topic with Christopher Turner.
Learning that Lily Turner already knew about this, Sophia was extrely anxious, pacing back and forth at the entrance, unable to co up with a quick solution in the mont.
"Whose call is it?"
Upon hearing Christopher Turner’s voice, Sophia jerked her head toward the sound. The man who had been watching financial news in the living room was now walking towards her, almost at her side.
Watching the man draw nearer, her anxiety surged, and her worried expression beca evident on her face.
Christopher, having already t Aiden Taylor, now knew about Sophia Wood and Lily Turner’s connection to the Taylor Family. He had noticed her deliberately avoiding the phone call earlier, and he quickly surmised it was probably from soone in the Taylor Family.
Seeing her anxious and flustered expression, he was almost certain of his suspicions.
"An old friend."
In her panic, Sophia blurted out this response.
Christopher said nothing for a while, staring unblinkingly at Sophia, his intense gaze making her feel uncomfortable all over.
"Why are you staring at like that? It really was just an old friend." Overwheld by his gaze, she broke the oppressive silence.
Sophia felt sowhat guilty, but she had to feign calm. After speaking, she tucked the phone away and walked into the house with large strides.
"Is your old friend soone nad Taylor?"
Christopher didn’t follow her right away. Instead, he asked Sophia’s retreating figure. As soon as he finished asking, he saw her back stiffen slightly.
Sophia stopped, turned back to look at him, and upon seeing him, appeared montarily stunned. After collecting herself, she softly asked, "Have you t Aiden Taylor?"
He must have; otherwise, he wouldn’t have asked this way.
"Is there nothing else you want to tell ?"
Christopher replied to Sophia’s question with another question, making it clear that he had indeed t Aiden and knew what he needed to know. He now just wanted to know when she would tell Lily about it.
Hearing this, Sophia was already aware in her mind. She turned to face Christopher, and after staring at him for so ti, she finally spoke slowly, "Lily is indeed the daughter of the Taylor Family."
She wasn’t sure exactly what Aiden had said, but she was confident he had told about her daughter Lily’s background.
"Is that all you have to say to ?"
Christopher pressed on, not hearing the information he was hoping for.
Hearing this, Sophia’s brow furrowed sharply, "What else do you want to know?"
This ti, she didn’t directly answer his question but instead replied with a question of her own.
"What do you think?"
Christopher threw the question back at her, speaking sowhat sarcastically.
Sophia blurted out, "How would I know what you want to know?"
With that, she turned and walked toward the living room, not willing to continue discussing this topic with him.
As she walked inside, her mind was preoccupied with the earlier phone call from Michael Linton, completely unaware that the man’s expression behind her had turned grim, cluelessly continuing on her way.
