Sophia Wood walked into the living room, followed closely by Christopher Turner. The two of them sat down on the sofa, one after the other.
The couple seed to have agreed in advance not to speak to each other first. However, they exchanged a glance and then simultaneously turned their gaze to the TV in front of them.
Christopher hadn’t bothered to change the channel when he left the living room earlier, so the TV was still on the financial channel, currently broadcasting financial news.
Sophia had no interest in this news at all. However, preoccupied as she was, she didn’t think of changing the channel. She just stared at the TV with her eyes, but where her thoughts truly were, only she knew.
Christopher was quite interested in financial news, but right now, his mind was on sothing else, and he watched sowhat absentmindedly.
"When do you plan to tell Lily about this? I think you should tell her sooner," Christopher finally couldn’t hold it in any longer after watching the TV for a while and broke the silence between them first.
At the sound, Sophia withdrew her gaze from the TV in front of her and slowly turned to her right, "Lily already knows about it."
She would be ho soon anyway. She couldn’t keep it a secret even if she wanted to, so since it couldn’t be hidden, she might as well co forth with it.
"Lily already knows? When did this happen?" Just yesterday, Christopher had t with Aiden Taylor, who had said Lily didn’t know about this, yet now he was hearing sothing different.
He was a bit surprised, and at that mont of surprise, he began to form his own thoughts.
Sophia nodded: "Lily just found out; she and Easton are on their way here now."
What exactly did that girl find out about? Is she coming here to verify the truth of this matter? Or to question her?
These were all just speculations on her part now. Only when they t in person would she know the answers.
"Lily and Easton are coming over shortly?"
There was an unmistakable excitent in Christopher’s voice, and his expression improved imdiately upon hearing this news. He turned to face Sophia, "When Lily gets here, be nice. Don’t act like you did the last ti you t."
He wasn’t consulting with her, nor was he pleading. He was reminding her, very seriously and purposefully.
After what happened last ti, Sophia had been scolded quite a bit by Christopher in anger. They had also argued often over the matter, and their relationship had only started to improve gradually since yesterday.
"I understand."
When Lily resolutely left that day, Sophia actually regretted it quite a lot. She regretted her decision at the ti and even more her actions.
Especially after talking with Michael Linton, she regretted it even more. She had thought a lot during these past few days and had gradually co to realize her mistakes.
Over the years, because of her hatred towards the Taylor Family, she had misplaced all her resentnt on Lily, who also happened to be Aiden’s daughter. She had completely overlooked the fact that Lily was also her daughter, the one who had once depended on her.
She had only focused on the cold treatnt she had received from the Taylor Family, never once thinking that the most pitiful one was her own daughter, who lost her father the day she was born and then was chased out of the family while her father’s body was still warm.
At this mont, Sophia had a rude awakening. Reflecting on her actions towards Lily over the years, her heart suddenly ached, to the point where tears welled up in her eyes.
