Although Callix Linton was present, Lily Turner still felt sowhat nervous since that man was her biological uncle after all.
She didn’t want to acknowledge him, but he wasn’t the one who drove her and her mother out of the Taylor Family back then. If she acknowledged him, she still couldn’t get past her own internal barrier.
She felt conflicted and torn, not really knowing what to do for the mont.
"If you don’t want to see that person, you can go back to your room," Callix Linton said this sentence as they were preparing to leave the dining room, clearly seeing Lily Turner’s confusion and conflict on her face.
That person was both his old subordinate and his nephew by blood, so he felt confident that he could handle it alone.
But Lily Turner didn’t think that way. She truly didn’t know how to face Aiden Taylor who had co knocking, but this was her issue. She couldn’t just wash her hands of it and throw the troubleso matter to an over-eighty-year-old man.
Easton Hols and Michael Linton wouldn’t criticize her, but she couldn’t allow herself to be so selfish and cowardly.
"It’s okay, I’ll go with you."
Lily Turner declined Callix Linton’s kindness, stood up, and left the dining room together with him.
anwhile, Aiden Taylor, waiting in the living room, was already finding it hard to sit still. He hadn’t actually waited long, but with sothing on his mind, every minute and second felt like torture to him.
Just as he was about to stand up and check the situation, he heard footsteps, two sets of them, and he was quite satisfied with his hearing.
Aiden Taylor took a deep breath to ease his sowhat restless mood, turning his head toward the entrance of the living room, waiting for the two people walking this way.
In no ti, he finally awaited the people he had been expecting.
"Got anxious waiting, didn’t you?"
Having experienced waiting for soone before, Callix Linton knew that feeling wasn’t good and could understand Aiden Taylor’s current restlessness.
"Not too bad."
Seeing Callix Linton and Lily Turner walk in one after the other, Aiden Taylor stood up and quickly stepped forward to support the elder as he ca over.
After assisting Callix to sit down, he then resud his seat on the sofa.
Lily Turner chose a seat slightly away from the two of them, feeling a bit more at ease with so distance.
"Did Michael call you?"
Callix Linton broke the ice first, directly leading the conversation to the main topic, serving as an opening for the whole situation.
Aiden Taylor nodded, "Mm."
As he nodded, he subconsciously glanced at Lily Turner who was sitting off to the side; the girl seed calr than he had imagined.
He thought she’d be agitated or sothing, but from the mont he first saw her as he entered, she maintained the sa deanor, without any change.
What Aiden Taylor didn’t know was that inside, Lily Turner was deeply torn, but she was trying her best to remain calm when facing him.
She had been an actress for so long; she had this bit of acting skill.
"Lily! I heard from your uncle that you already know about your origins, so I won’t beat around the bush," Aiden Taylor paused, then reintroduced himself to Lily Turner, "Let formally introduce myself. My na is Aiden Taylor, your biological father’s older brother, so I’m your uncle."
He didn’t beat around the bush at all, getting straight to acknowledging family ties with the other party.
