"Who called for ?"
Easton Hols just said that the person he was looking for was you, then placed the phone directly to his ear. Lily Turner had no idea what was going on, looking at him in confusion.
When Lily Turner asked this question, she was actually asking Easton Hols, but on the other side of the line, Thomas Fisher thought she was asking him, "I’m looking for you, sister-in-law!"
Upon hearing her pick up the call, he imdiately replied.
"Thomas Fisher!"
Lily Turner exclaid and then quickly said, "Weren’t you going to the restaurant with my sister? Are you done eating and heading back now?"
Not knowing what was going on, as soon as she heard it was Thomas Fisher, she blurted out and asked him.
"The guests have left, your parents went back too, but your sister hasn’t returned yet. Can you call her and see where she is now?" Thomas Fisher briefly explained the situation over there, trying his best to control his emotions while speaking. After all, his older brother had just told him that if he frightened his sister-in-law, he’d be in big trouble.
Even though his older brother didn’t explicitly say it, he knew that’s what he ant.
Upon hearing Thomas Fisher’s words, Lily Turner’s perfectly shaped eyebrows suddenly furrowed, "Why didn’t my sister go back with my parents? Did she get into another... another argunt with my brother-in-law?"
She almost called him that scumbag, catching herself at the last mont before changing her words.
There were good brothers of that scumbag on both sides of the call, and she’d certainly get criticized if she said that.
"No! No! It’s just that your sister had a bit to drink, and I’m worried sothing might happen to her," Thomas Fisher dove headfirst into the lie and couldn’t get out, having already lied to the four elders earlier, and now continuing to lie to Lily Turner. He had told quite a few lies today.
Hearing this, Lily Turner’s furrowed eyebrows furrowed even deeper, "If you’re so worried about her, why didn’t you take her ho just now?"
Knowing that her sister only drank and didn’t have any unpleasantness with that scumbag, her previously tense heart began to calm down.
But thinking about her sister driving herself ho after drinking, her recently settled heart beca anxious again.
"Your sister wouldn’t let take her, she insisted on driving herself back." Thomas Fisher didn’t dare tell the truth, fearing criticism himself was a minor issue, but he didn’t want anyone to think poorly of Alice Turner.
"Okay, I’ll hang up now."
"After you call your sister, can you call back?"
Just as Lily Turner was about to hang up, Thomas Fisher suddenly shouted from the other side, making her pause montarily, "Got it."
After responding to the person on the other side, she hung up the phone.
After hanging up with Thomas Fisher, Lily Turner imdiately dialed Alice Turner’s number. After dialing, she quickly placed the phone to her ear.
"Hello!"
After a few rings, Alice Turner picked up the phone.
"Sis! Where are you now?"
Through the phone, Lily Turner didn’t detect anything unusual, truly believing that Alice Turner had drunk and driven away from the restaurant on her own, with no thoughts about anything else.
"I went to take care of sothing and might be ho later. Let Mom and Dad know, and if it gets too late, I won’t co back; I’ll head over first thing in the morning." Alice Turner also didn’t know that Thomas Fisher had called Lily Turner, assuming that Christopher Turner and Sophia Wood went ho and, not seeing her return, made this call.
