Although the two sisters didn’t actually understand each other’s situation, they didn’t question one another; both of them believed what the other said.
"Oh! Then try to co ho early, don’t work too late." Alice Turner was always a busy person, and Lily Turner knew it well, so when her sister said she was busy with things, she didn’t doubt it at all.
Lily Turner being taken out of the house by Easton Hols was sothing Alice Turner didn’t know about on the other end of the call. She nodded and responded, "Mm, then you get so rest early, and make sure you’re looking beautiful tomorrow."

Alice Turner hung up the phone before Lily Turner could say anything else, ending it so hastily that Lily didn’t even have the chance to say goodbye.
Lily slowly took the phone away from her ear and turned her head to look at Easton Hols, who had been standing beside her the whole ti, with a puzzled expression, "My sister didn’t sound like she’d been drinking. Why did Thomas say she had been?"
She knew her sister’s drinking capacity best, with three drinks being enough to make her tipsy.
But she had just heard her sister speak, and her sister’s words were clear, with no signs of slurring at all.
"He’s always the type to overreact. Just ignore him." Easton Hols, having stood beside Lily during her conversation with Alice, had heard the sisters’ conversation clearly. He also picked up that the person on the other end didn’t sound drunk.

The tone of his good friend when he called was so urgent that he could feel it was genuine, not feigned.

After dialing Thomas’s number, she placed the phone against her ear.
"Sister-in-law! Did you reach your sister?"

As soon as she asked, she belatedly realized that he couldn’t reach her sister, which was why he called her.

"My sister’s phone connected right away, how co you couldn’t get through?" Lily was fixated on the fact that Thomas couldn’t get through and didn’t think to consider anything else.
Easton Hols suddenly reached over, took the phone from her hand, and, rather than putting it to his ear, held it up and spoke directly into it, "Handle things yourself and stop bothering and your sister-in-law."
After saying that, he unapologetically hung up the call.
