Lily Turner didn’t want her sister Alice Turner to work so hard, but she couldn’t agree with her mother Sophia Wood’s opinion. She always believed that won should be financially independent and not beco n’s appendages.
Relying on a man to live every day, she personally felt that such a life would lack a sense of dignity.
"Sister works hard to make her life more fulfilling, it has nothing to do with anyone else." That man would soon no longer be her brother-in-law, and her sister would have nothing to do with him. Her sister could do whatever she liked; it would depend on her sister’s mood.
"What do you an it has nothing to do with anyone else? That person is your brother-in-law." Sophia knew Alice Turner was forced into marriage, but she wasn’t aware of how things really were between Alice and Benjamin Shaw. On the surface, there seed to be no problem, and she couldn’t have imagined that the two were planning to divorce.
He is now, but soon he won’t be.
Lily Turner wanted to say this loudly, but in the end, she held back. Her sister had repeatedly instructed her not to tell their parents about this matter for the ti being, and she chose to respect her sister’s wishes.
"I know that person is my brother-in-law, and I never said he wasn’t. I’m just saying that my sister’s work is her own choice, and no one except her can interfere, including the three of us." Even the closest people shouldn’t interfere, let alone that man, who would soon not be her brother-in-law.
Lily Turner shouted in her heart, her sister’s marriage freedom had been taken away by them. They should not control her sister anymore and let her live freely. What they wanted to give was not what her sister wanted.
It seed like Sophia Wood heard sothing in Lily Turner’s words. She tilted her head to look at her and said nothing.
"Hurry up and sleep; you have to get up early tomorrow."
It was already very late, and she had to get up early in the morning. She wasn’t worried that her daughter couldn’t get up, but she was worried about how her pregnant daughter’s body would handle it.
"Yeah! You should sleep too."
Lily Turner didn’t say anything else, turning her back to Sophia Wood. Whether she had any sleepiness or not, only she knew best, but she couldn’t disturb her mother’s rest.
Sophia Wood didn’t know that Lily Turner wasn’t sleepy. When she saw Lily turn over, she thought Lily was asleep and didn’t make another sound. Without sleepiness, she forced herself to sleep.
After a long, long ti, Sophia Wood finally forced herself to fall asleep. At that mont, Lily Turner was also very tired; she could no longer keep her eyes open and drifted off to sleep.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
In the morning, Lily Turner was awakened by a knock at the door. Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she hadn’t even had ti to remove her hand when she heard soone push the door open.
"Not awake yet? The makeup artist is here."
Alice Turner walked in, seeing Lily Turner still dazed. She knew that her sister had just been woken up by the knocking.
She didn’t want to wake her sleeping sister either, but the makeup artist was already waiting downstairs. Afraid of wasting ti, she went upstairs with determination to wake her sleeping sister.
Lily Turner yawned with her hand covering her mouth, desperately wanting to stay in bed a little longer. But upon hearing Alice Turner say the makeup artist was here, she had to overco her sleepiness and get out of bed.
It was only then that she realized her mother, who was sleeping with her, had long since disappeared.
"So sleepy!"
As Lily Turner cried out for her sleepiness, she lifted the quilt and got out of bed. She had to go to the bathroom to wash her face and wake herself up.
