The heavy sound of the door closing made Thomas Fisher in the bathroom pause instinctively. He was dazed for a mont, only regaining composure after quite a while. When he finally ca to his senses, he rushed out of the bathroom, but by then, Alice Turner’s figure was already gone.
Looking down at his dripping wet body, he turned back to the shower to continue his cold rinse.
Thomas Fisher closed his eyes, tilting his head back to let the cool water pour over him. He felt that this was the only way to dampen the fire within him and quickly calm his agitated mind.
Suddenly, a lodious phone ringtone ca from the direction of the bathroom entrance.
Thomas Fisher slowly opened his eyes, turning his head towards the washstand at the bathroom door. He hesitated, then seed to rember sothing and switched off the shower, striding towards the bathroom door.
Picking up the clothes on the washstand, Thomas Fisher took out the incessantly ringing phone from his pocket, realizing it wasn’t his phone but Alice Turner’s.
Earlier, on the way to the hotel, he had forgotten to return the phone he grabbed from her. If soone hadn’t called, he wouldn’t even have rembered about it.
