Thomas Fisher did not leave; instead, he crouched down beside Alice Turner and reached out to take so tissues from the box she had grabbed, starting to wipe the spilled milk on the floor.

Alice glanced at the man squatting next to her from the corner of her eye and sighed softly, not loud enough to hear. She didn’t tell him to leave again; instead, she picked up tissues and joined him in cleaning up the ss.
She thought to herself, let’s clean up the ss on the floor quickly, so he can leave sooner.
"Ah!"
Distracted, Alice accidentally grabbed so glass shards, and the sudden pain in her hand made her cry out.
Hearing her painful cry, Thomas’s heart wrenched abruptly, realizing sothing was wrong, he imdiately leaned in, "Where are you hurt?"
In the instant he leaned closer, he saw her left hand bleeding, and his brows furrowed sharply.
"How can you be so careless?"
While he complained about her carelessness with concern, he reached out to pull her hand over. The sight made him gasp in shock.
A piece of glass had lodged in Alice’s palm, and her fingers weren’t spared either; several of her fingers were also embedded with glass splinters.
"Let’s go! I’ll take you to the hospital right away."
While speaking, Thomas pulled Alice up from the floor. Regardless of whether she was still angry with him, he held her hand and headed toward the door.
After taking two steps, he heard her calling from behind, "Wait a minute!"
"You’re this hurt, what are you waiting for!"
Without turning his head, he continued to drag her to the entrance.
"How can we go to the hospital without money?"
Pulling back, Alice protested, prompting Thomas to turn back, yelling with agitation, "Do you think I’m dead?"
Did she think he was just a decoration? Or a dead man?
The pain from her hand was intense enough already, but coupled with Thomas’s shout, Alice’s eyes suddenly welled up with tears, and within a second, they turned into droplets, cascading down her cheeks.
"I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have yelled at you."
He reached out to wipe her tears, but she turned her head to avoid it.
"I have money in my wallet, won’t need to ask the doctor for credit, so don’t worry." Thomas didn’t argue with Alice; speaking rapidly, he explained and then pulled her with large strides to the door.
After a few steps, he suddenly stopped, turning his head to look at her, "Where’s your car key?"
His car was still parked in the Military District Compound. It would take ti to hail a cab downstairs, so he planned to drive her car to the hospital.
"In my bag, my bag is on the living room sofa." At this mont, Alice had stopped crying, but her long eyelashes were still adorned with tear droplets.
Taking a look at her, Thomas imdiately turned around and went to the living room. Soon, he returned with her handbag.
Holding her bag in one hand, he grasped her uninjured hand with the other, walking briskly away.
Thomas drove Alice to the nearest hospital; after the doctor washed the blood from her hand, her wounds were revealed.
The wounds on her fingers were not too serious, just surface cuts that could be bandaged. However, the cut on her palm was much deeper and required stitches.
As Alice’s wound was revealed, Thomas felt deep regret and heartache. If he’d known she would get hurt, he certainly wouldn’t have let her clean up those things earlier. He should have been more assertive.
When the doctor was stitching her hand, Alice suddenly heard her phone ringing and instinctively turned to find her bag; but as she reached for it, she noticed Thomas pulling out her phone from his pocket.
