Easton Hols, without any hesitation, draped his clothes over Lily Turner once more. She instinctively reached out to push them away, and in her urgency, one of her hands happened to land on the back of his hand.
The mont their hands touched, both of them were stunned.
"Uh? Sorry."
Lily Turner awkwardly withdrew her hand to avoid another embarrassing situation. She didn't dare to reach out casually again.
The soft touch on the back of his hand suddenly disappeared, and Easton Hols felt a void in his heart. Staring at the woman, he hesitated for a mont, and reluctantly withdrew his hand from her shoulder.
"You sent a ssage that day saying you had sothing urgent to tell . What was it?" Easton Hols slightly turned his body to look at the still-awkward Lily Turner, shifting quietly to the side to avoid giving her pressure.
Hearing him ntion the ssage she sent that day, Lily Turner set aside her awkward thoughts. She turned to face the man beside her, staring at him under the faint lights reflecting off the sea. She pursed her lips and said, "So things happened a few days ago. You might not know since you were out for exercises. I don't know how to tell you; you'd better check it online yourself."
It's not that she didn't know how to say it; she just felt embarrassed to say it to him. It made her feel quite uncomfortable.
"Does it have anything to do with ?"
Easton Hols knowingly asked while taking out his phone from his pocket, feigning puzzled as he glanced at Lily Turner. He unlocked the screen, went online, and quickly found the site where Jenny York had posted.
However, at this mont, the post where Jenny York spread rumors had been forcibly deleted by the site, replaced by Jenny York's statent clarifying the facts and apologizing.
Easton Hols had seen these before coming here, but unlike what he saw then, the post had now many comnts.
He quickly browsed through them; the comnts included insults and accusations against Jenny York, and so said it was a publicity stunt by Lily Turner's company to boost the popularity of Lily and the film, paving the way for the film's release.
Lily Turner saw Easton Hols scrolling through his phone without saying a word for a long ti. She leaned over to take a look. Because of the distance, she couldn't see what he was looking at, but seeing him frowning, she thought he must be reading those rumor posts.
"I'm sorry!" She felt sowhat uneasy for dragging him, an innocent person, into her personal dispute with soone.
"Why are you apologizing to ?"
Upon hearing Lily Turner apologize, Easton Hols slowly raised his head and looked at her standing opposite him. Her apology left him a bit confused.
Lily Turner took a deep breath and awkwardly spoke, "The person who posted it is soone who used to be my good friend. She posted it just to target . I didn't expect it to involve you."
"That person was your best friend?!" Easton Hols had only seen the post by Jenny York and hadn't yet seen the one by Alice Turner. Hearing Lily Turner's words, he was genuinely surprised.
Lily Turner nodded sadly and gave a bitter smile, "Yes! I'm sorry to let you see such a ss."
"What happened between you two?"
Sothing unpleasant must have happened; otherwise, things wouldn't be like this. Easton Hols couldn't figure out what could have caused such a rift between two good friends.
