When Easton Hols asked about what happened between her and Jenny York, Lily Turner's mood suddenly turned gloomy. However, she quickly realized that this was not the ti to dwell on it; she needed to resolve the house issue first.
"What happened between us is hard to explain!" Lily paused for a mont before changing the subject, "The text I sent you that day wasn't about this matter. I mainly want to discuss the house in Scenic Residence with you."
"You..."
"Don't rush, and don't get angry, can you listen to finish?"
Hearing Lily bring up the house in Scenic Residence again, Easton got anxious and was about to retort, but just as he started to say "you," she raised her hand to stop him.
Seeing the man complied by not saying anything, Lily exhaled in relief and hesitated for a mont before speaking her mind, "You also saw it online just now; the rumors... things are all over the place. The busybodies are bound to dig into the house matter, and by then, I really won't be able to explain it."
The busybodies are probably not only Jenny York; among those entertainnt reporters, there are bound to be so who won't let this go, and she couldn't take that risk.
"You just..."
"Right! You not only need to take back that house but also retract your condition about increasing my pay."
Lily suddenly rembered the issue of paynt and interrupted Easton again before he could speak.
This ti, Easton did not respond imdiately and silently looked at Lily standing in front of him. He seed to be waiting for her to continue, or perhaps he was sulking.
"Why aren't you speaking? Is it a yes or no?" Seeing the man staring at her without saying a word, Lily couldn't withstand his gaze or his silence, which gave her intense pressure.
"You already said everything, and you were very clear about it, so I won't add anything."
Easton turned to look at the ocean, no longer facing Lily standing beside him. Due to the limited light, she couldn't make out his expression, but she could sense that he seed displeased.
But why should he be unhappy? She was returning what belonged to him; he should be happy, shouldn't he?
Lily couldn't understand it, but she didn't dwell too much on this issue. "Since you're not adding anything, let's go to the property office tomorrow and get the paperwork back."
The sooner the matter is resolved, the better, to avoid complications.
"I don't have ti tomorrow."
Easton continued facing the nightti sea, not even turning his head, as if he was talking to the sea.
Upon hearing this, Lily blurted, "Then when do you have ti?"
"I don't have ti anyti soon."
Easton remained in the sa posture, utterly still.
Hearing this, Lily instantly beca anxious, but as she was about to argue with him, she suddenly felt the atmosphere change dramatically.
"Are you angry?" she asked cautiously.
"No!"
Easton replied quickly; he answered almost as soon as Lily finished speaking, as if those two words were already on the tip of his tongue.
No? Why didn't she believe it?
Lily took a step forward, turned around, and faced Easton, "If you're not angry, why aren't you looking at ?"
