In the courtyard, the conversation between the uncle and nephew was sothing Fabian Hols didn’t anticipate at all while waiting for news at the hospital. He was solely hoping for good news and didn’t consider the possibility of bad news.
Buzz buzz buzz!
The phone in his hand suddenly rang. Fabian Hols thought it was Michael Linton calling after finishing his talk with Easton Hols, so he imdiately raised his hand with the phone. But the scene before his eyes dimd his brightness in an instant.
The call wasn’t from the courtyard by Michael Linton; it was from Alia Linton in the hospital room. He looked up at the eighth-floor room, where the lights had just turned on.
Fabian Hols stared at the window of that room for a while before slowly answering the call, "I..."
"Where did you go late at night?"
Alia Linton interrupted Fabian Hols with displeasure before he could say anything.
Due to the events involving Easton Hols and Theodore Hols, Fabian Hols was already in a bad mood. Earlier, he had swallowed a lot of frustration from Michael Linton, and now, hearing Alia Linton’s discontent question, the anger that he had been holding back suddenly flared up.
"Where can I go? You spend all day trying to find fault with . Why don’t you use that ti to take care of your son?" He focused solely on venting the anger in his heart, without paying attention to what he was actually saying.
"I’m just calling to ask where you went. Why are you so excited? Did you do sothing shady again?" Alia Linton had just got up to go to the bathroom and discovered the sofa was empty; the person who had been sleeping there, Fabian Hols, was nowhere to be seen. She was already angry.
She took out her phone and dialed his number. He took a long ti to answer, and his attitude towards her was like this. She couldn’t help but start imagining things.
The person on the other side started rambling, making Fabian Hols even angrier. "What shady things did I do? Alia Linton! Can you not go crazy? You’re the one who made this house such a ss."
His emotions grew more intense as he spoke, and by the end, he was practically shouting.
"I’m going crazy? I made the house a ss? Fabian Hols! You should speak with a conscience." Alia Linton wasn’t aware of what had happened between Easton Hols and Theodore Hols. Now she thought Fabian Hols running out in the middle of the night seed suspicious, and a look of doubt appeared on her face.
Fabian Hols sneered into the phone with anger: "You can go crazy all you want. I’m not in the mood, nor do I have the ti to deal with you right now."
After finishing his angry rant, he hung up the phone directly.
If it weren’t for waiting for Michael Linton’s call, Fabian Hols would have shut down his phone without hesitation. But he needed to wait for that call, and he was standing outside in the cold wind just for it.
Rembering what had happened the night before, he didn’t dare to rashly put Alia Linton’s number on the blacklist. That woman was capable of anything, so for now, he decided to bear with it.
Fabian Hols hadn’t even had a chance to catch his breath when Alia Linton called him again. This ti, he didn’t answer her call; he simply hung up.
Yet he didn’t completely ignore her. He typed a text ssage to her, really unwilling to respond to her right now, but this was all he could do.
"I’m just downstairs at the inpatient ward. Things to deal with. Just sleep peacefully; I won’t be going anywhere."
