As Fabian Hols drove anxiously toward the family estate, Easton Hols received a call from an old friend, saying they had found the person he was looking for.
As soon as he heard that Theodore Hols was found, he imdiately changed out of his robe, grabbed his car keys, and walked out of the room.
Michael Linton was not asleep at this ti either. Hearing so noise outside, he got up and ca out, but he only caught a glimpse of a hurried figure disappearing from view as he exited his room. He wanted to call out, but the figure was already out of sight.
This kid just got back, why is he going out again?
Staring in the direction of the stairwell, Michael Linton furrowed his brow in doubt, but he didn’t follow. He didn’t want to wake anyone else, especially his elderly father and niece-in-law.
With questions lingering, he turned back to his room. Seeing him return, the person in bed sat up, "What’s wrong?"
Since Michael Linton received Fabian Hols’ call earlier, Serena Zimrman had been startled wide awake, unable to sleep with worries occupying her mind.
She also heard the noise outside earlier, and not knowing what was going on out there, her concern only grew.
"Easton went out."
Michael Linton didn’t plan to lie to Serena Zimrman and honestly told her what he saw.
After discussing with Easton Hols, Michael Linton returned to his room and hadn’t even lain down before Serena Zimrman started interrogating him. From the start, he hadn’t intended to hide anything and concisely shared what he’d learned.
They had just finished talking when the noise from outside ca.
Besides being worried, Serena Zimrman was now also anxious, looking at Michael Linton, who had just sat by the bed, "Why did Easton go out so late? Could it be that he found that guy?"
With a tense expression on her face, she grabbed his pajama sleeve.
"Don’t worry unnecessarily; Easton won’t do anything outlandish. At most, he’ll give that boy a good talking to on behalf of his father." Michael Linton spoke lightly, but his heart wasn’t as relaxed; he wasn’t concerned about Easton acting rashly but rather worried about this situation creating chaos at ho.
Serena Zimrman felt even more anxious because of Michael Linton’s words, but before she could say anything, he suddenly pulled her hand off his sleeve, "Easton handles things well, so just rest easy and get so sleep. We have a flight to catch tomorrow morning."
He patted her arm, urging her to lie down and sleep.
"You..."
"Sleep!"
Serena Zimrman wanted to say more, but she only managed a "you" before Michael Linton waved to interrupt her, then lay down under her gaze.
To reassure her into resting, he turned off the bedside lamp as he lay down.
"You really have a big heart, Uncle."
Muttering to Michael Linton, Serena Zimrman lay down next to him. Though she lay down, she had no intention of sleeping, and neither did he.
The two lay with their backs to each other but were both thinking about the sa thing — the events between Easton Hols and Theodore Hols.
Bang bang bang!
Hearing the knocking, both Michael Linton and Serena Zimrman reacted simultaneously, but Michael Linton was a step quicker, sitting up and rushing to the door without bothering to turn on the light.
He had only taken two steps when the light ca on behind him.
"Auntie Li!"
Seeing it was Auntie Li at the door, Michael Linton imdiately sensed things weren’t going well, and as she spoke, his feeling of unease grew, "The young master is here."
