If it weren’t for the fact that Lily Turner was still hungry, Easton Hols would definitely have carried her back to their room by now. Just hold on, he thought, as he took her inside.
As the two of them walked in hand-in-hand, Callix Linton ca over from the living room. Seeing the couple glued together, a joyful smile spread across his face.
"Grandpa!"
Seeing his grandfather, Easton Hols guided Lily Turner over to him, then used his other hand to support him.
Holding his wife with one hand and supporting his grandfather with the other, he felt truly happy, the kind of happiness that cos from the heart.
"I’m not at the age where I need support yet. You can help when that day cos," Callix Linton said, freeing himself from Easton’s hold. After that, he quickened his pace toward the dining area, leaving the couple far behind.
Seeing this, Easton Hols put on a pitiful act, tilting his head toward the woman beside him, "Wife! It seems Grandpa doesn’t like anymore."
He was rather convincing; if you didn’t know better, you’d really think his grandfather had a grudge against him.
"Really? That’s just so pitiful," Lily Turner teased, playing along with the man.
Seeing her smile, Easton Hols felt pure joy. He stopped walking, turned to face her, and said, "Since I’m so pitiful, won’t you comfort a little?"
He leaned down, eyes locked on hers, his once stern face now filled with hope.
"Alright! Let comfort my poor husband," Lily Turner said, gently patting Easton’s head with a sly smile. "Later, I’ll snatch the chicken drumstick from Grandpa’s bowl for you. Let’s see if he dares to dislike you again."
Her words were purely in jest; she could never really do sothing like that.
She’s a kind and filial person, yet she felt like she was selling her kindness.
It wasn’t at all what Easton expected, but hearing Lily repeatedly call him "my husband" made his heart lt. He leaned in and kissed her lips, "Wife! I’ve noticed your mouth is getting better at teasing . Do you see your husband as a glutton?"
After speaking, he couldn’t help but steal another kiss from her lips.
"Of course... not," Lily Turner exaggerated her voice on purpose, maintaining her mischievous grin.
Easton Hols blinked, pretending to be angry as he straightened his face, but his eyes twinkled with indulgent affection, "Wife! It seems like you’re very dis..."
Growl!
Just then, a rumble ca from a stomach.
"Hubby! I’m hungry."
Lily Turner looked down at her stomach, taking the chance to change the subject.
Easton Hols heard it clearly. That unexpected rumbling instantly broke his stern facade, and he stopped their playful banter, leading her quickly toward the dining area.
When they entered the dining room, Callix Linton was already eating. Seeing the two of them walk in, he paused, pointed his chopsticks at the delicious food in front of him, and said, "If you don’t co here soon, all these goodies will end up in my tummy."
With that, he picked up a piece of chicken and put it in his mouth, smacking his lips a couple of tis, clearly teasing the two who had just walked in.
"Grandpa! When did your appetite get so big?" Easton Hols couldn’t help but laugh as he responded to his grandpa’s teasing.
