Lily Turner didn’t find Easton Hols downstairs, nor did she see any sign of him in the yard. As she was about to go upstairs to look for him, Callix Linton walked out of his room.
Seeing her co in from outside, he raised his eyebrows in confusion, "Girl! You went out?"
As he asked, he instinctively glanced behind her. There was only her; he didn’t see his grandson.
"I was feeling suffocated inside, so I went out to get so air," Lily Turner casually made up an excuse. After saying it, she felt quite pleased with herself for being able to lie so smoothly.
Callix Linton looked up in the direction of the second floor, his suspicion growing stronger, "Where’s Easton? Didn’t he go out with you to get so air?"
This wasn’t his grandson’s usual style with his granddaughter-in-law. His grandson was always clingy with her; what happened today? How could he let his wife go out alone to get so air?
Not normal! This situation is absolutely not normal!
"He’s sleeping in the room, I didn’t want to disturb him." Lily Turner had seen Easton’s car in the yard earlier, which indicated he hadn’t gone out. If she didn’t find him on the first floor, he must be on the second floor.
But she couldn’t possibly tell her grandfather the truth; if she did, he would find out about her brother-in-law’s online post, and the already tense relationship between her grandfather and her in-laws would beco even more strained.
When Callix Linton heard Lily Turner say that, he genuinely believed Easton was sleeping in the room. Previously, he might not have trusted this, but since Easton hadn’t slept all night last night, he thought it made sense for Easton to be taking a nap in the room.
"Then just watch TV on the first floor." Callix Linton pointed to the direction of the living room, suggesting Lily go watch TV, as he didn’t want her to get bored.
"I’m kind of tired; I’m going upstairs to lie down for a while."
Lily Turner wasn’t really in the mood to watch TV, but she wasn’t lying either. She was indeed a bit tired; if it hadn’t been for that unexpected call from Sophia Wood earlier, she would probably be dreaming about playing chess with soone.
Unaware of this, Callix Linton thought Lily Turner was tired from wandering outside, so he didn’t insist on her watching TV. He waved her upstairs to rest, "Go up and rest quickly."
Nothing can happen to her right now; he’s waiting to hold his great-grandchild.
"Grandpa! I’m heading upstairs then."
Seeing that Callix Linton had no intention of questioning her, Lily Turner quickly went upstairs. As she approached the second-floor staircase, she saw Easton Hols coming out of the study, and her charming face imdiately drooped.
This guy! He had actually been hiding in the study to take a call, making her run around the yard downstairs for nothing.
Easton Hols saw Lily Turner coming up from downstairs and noticed her face drop when she saw him. He imdiately realized she’d gone down to look for him, so he walked briskly towards her.
"Did you go looking for downstairs?" Although he already guessed it, he still asked knowingly.
"You went so far to take a call; I wanted to see which beauty is calling you." Lily Turner was joking; she knew Easton’s character well by now, and he definitely wasn’t the type to have a wandering eye.
Easton Hols could easily tell she was joking. He walked up to her and pulled her into an embrace, "Wifey! You’re so cute like this, I really like it."
