Thomas Fisher and Alice Turner were on a video call all night, until just before dawn, she couldn’t hold on any longer and closed her eyes, falling asleep.
As she fell asleep, she didn’t rember to turn off the video call. The phone was still plugged into the charger, and she slept deeply like that.
Thomas was also very tired, but looking at the sleeping Alice in the video, he couldn’t bear to close his eyes, holding the phone, he kept staring at her in the video, until the phone on her side buzzed with a vibrating sound.
In her drowsiness, Alice heard the buzzing sound, and she struggled to open her eyes, weary as she was.
Seeing the charging phone beside her pillow, she suddenly rembered that she had forgotten to turn off the video call before falling asleep.
She picked up the phone to check it, and sure enough, the video was still on. She glanced at the man in the video, and he seed to be asleep.
Afraid that the buzzing would wake the man on the other end, Alice hurriedly turned off the video. What she didn’t know was that Thomas hadn’t slept at all; he just closed his eyes and pretended to sleep, worried she would feel embarrassed if she saw him.
Alice didn’t sense anything unusual about the situation. After she turned off the video, she checked the missed calls; it was Isla Lane who had called. She hesitated for a mont before answering the phone.
"Hello! Mom!" On the other end of the line was still her mother-in-law, so she had to show so respect.
"What ti do you and Benjamin plan to visit your mom’s place? Your dad and I are waiting for you there." Lily Turner and Easton Hols were visiting today, and Christopher Turner had invited Alexander Shaw and Isla Lane to co along. Isla, after getting up early to prepare, called Alice.
Upon hearing Isla’s words, Alice’s face suddenly turned sour. She sat up in bed with the phone and then spoke to the person on the other side, "Benjamin didn’t stay at ho. I’ll go over by myself later; you and dad don’t have to wait for ."
Since that man was being so stubborn, why should she be polite to him? She decided that from today on, she would no longer cooperate with his charades.
"Benjamin didn’t stay at ho?! Didn’t your sister say he was at ho last night?" After Charlotte Shaw finished her call with Benjamin last night, she imdiately called Isla to report. From Charlotte, Isla learned that Alice and Benjamin had reconciled.
After knowing her son and daughter-in-law had made up, Isla felt relieved. But now hearing a different version was unexpected and puzzling.
Alice smirked slightly, though her tone wasn’t entirely cold, but her words weren’t kind, "He might be talking about his other ho."
In the past six months of marriage, that man didn’t stay at his parents’ place, nor did he stay here. She didn’t know where he was, but she guessed he must have another ho. He wouldn’t be sleeping on the streets.
"Benjamin has another ho? Alice! What do you an by that?" Over the phone, Isla sensed a hidden aning in Alice’s words. Although she couldn’t see the person on the other side, she felt sothing was wrong, and a bad premonition ford in her heart.
Alice didn’t say much more, only telling the person on the other side, "Call Benjamin, I’m not really sure of his situation either."
After finishing, regardless of what reaction the person on the other end might have, she directly hung up the phone.
