Although Lily Turner was quite displeased with Easton Hols’ words, she couldn’t help but admit that her parents really liked him, and that made her very happy.
"Your in-laws like you, go ahead and be smug." She glared at him with mock annoyance, but the curve of her lips revealed her true feelings at the mont.
"I’ll be smug, because I’m just that likable." Easton Hols didn’t turn his head to look at Lily, but he could tell she was in a good mood.
At his words, Lily Turner blurted out: "But I’m just annoying."
Thinking about how she still hadn’t been accepted by his parents, she couldn’t help but let out a sigh.
Upon hearing her sigh, Easton Hols furrowed his brows, and once he ensured it was safe to drive, he turned to look at her, "It’s enough that I like you."
He knew exactly what she ant just now; she was sighing because his parents didn’t accept her, and considering his parents didn’t even care much about him, it was even less likely they would accept her.
No matter whether his parents liked it or not, they were still living sweetly together.
"Yeah, it’s enough that my husband likes , everyone else can just move aside." Lily Turner quickly put away her grievances and looked up at the man driving. Although she sounded carefree on the surface, she didn’t feel as carefree inside, since those two people were his parents, her in-laws.
She felt that he wasn’t as carefree as he appeared; he was just acting relaxed so as not to make her sad.
Why didn’t his parents like her? What about her couldn’t win their approval?
Especially his mother, who seed annoyed just by looking at her, with deep hostility in her eyes.
Alia Linton’s loathing left Lily Turner utterly perplexed, and she really couldn’t understand what she had done to make Alia dislike her so much.
Easton Hols simply tugged at the corner of his mouth silently and didn’t say more about it. As Lily Turner suspected, he wasn’t as carefree inside as he appeared.
He already had a poor relationship with his parents, and now, because of that guy, it’s worsened, especially with his father. His father probably harbors resentnt towards him because of the punishnt he ted out to that guy.
His father had always been particularly fond of that guy. Although he hadn’t felt it very strongly before, this ti he truly felt his father’s favoritism towards that guy.
He’s grown up and wouldn’t compete for anything like a child would, but not competing doesn’t an he doesn’t have thoughts; after all, that person is his father, his biological father, and he’s not yet able to pretend he doesn’t exist.
Both Easton Hols and Lily Turner were lost in thought, as if they had coordinated beforehand, neither spoke again throughout the journey, and this silent state continued until they reached the Turner Family’s front gate.
"Are there other guests today?"
As Lily Turner opened the car door, she noticed another car parked at the gate, not her sister’s car, and muttered to herself in confusion.
"Hmm? What did you say?"
Easton Hols heard Lily Turner say sothing, but he didn’t hear clearly what she actually said, as her voice was too quiet.
Upon hearing Easton Hols speak to her, Lily Turner instinctively turned back to glance at him, "I said soone arrived earlier than us."
