After Easton Hols and Lily Turner sat down, everyone started to eat. Today’s al was particularly sumptuous, and everyone chatted happily as they ate.
Alice Turner was eating with her right hand and using a spoon. Whether she was eating rice or vegetables, she used a spoon for everything.
At first, Lily Turner didn’t notice anything unusual about this. She was using chopsticks to pick up food from the dish, and Alice happened to be using a spoon in the sa dish. That’s when she noticed the spoon in her sister’s hand.
She followed the spoon and noticed her sister was using her right hand. Instinctively, she looked at her sister’s left hand but saw nothing as it was tucked into her sister’s pocket.
What happened to her sister’s left hand?
Lily Turner put her chopsticks on her bowl, reached under the table, and secretly tugged at Alice Turner’s clothes.
Suddenly feeling soone tugging her clothes, Alice instinctively looked down. Following the hand, she saw Lily’s puzzled face. Not knowing what was going on, she felt confused, "What’s up?"
She tilted her head, looking at her sister with a face full of confusion.
"What happened to your left hand?"
Lily pointed to Alice’s left hand in her pocket, asking in a low voice.
Hearing this, Alice then realized that Lily had noticed sothing strange. She had hidden her injured left hand in her pocket just as Lily was entering, fearing Lily would see it.
She didn’t expect her abnormality to be noticed by her sister anyway. Leaning closer to her sister, she whispered so only the two of them could hear, "Let’s talk after dinner."
With so many people around, she didn’t want her sister to make a fuss, as it would be inappropriate.
"...Okay."
Seeing her sister speaking so cautiously, Lily knew sothing must have happened. It was just not the right ti to talk about it with so many people around. She stopped tugging at her sister’s clothes and resud eating with her chopsticks.
This ti, as she ate, she frequently placed food into her sister’s bowl.
Alice didn’t refuse nor tell her sister to stop. It was quite a struggle and inconvenient for her to pick up food, not to ntion that her sister wasn’t an outsider.
Sophia Wood already knew about Alice’s injured left hand, so seeing Lily helping her with food wasn’t surprising or confusing to her. All she felt was relief.
Seeing the affectionate bond between Alice and Lily made Sophia genuinely happy, but thinking about the issues between Alice and Benjamin Shaw suddenly made her feel gloomy.
What exactly is that kid thinking? Why doesn’t he appreciate her eldest daughter? Her eldest daughter is so sensible and capable, not to ntion, very beautiful.
Her eldest daughter can be said to be perfect both at social gatherings and at ho, such an outstanding woman yet she can’t catch that kid’s eye.
Does that kid have soone else in his heart? Otherwise, how could he not be interested in her eldest daughter?
"Dear family! Today, in front of everyone, I want to discuss sothing with you two." Isla Lane seized the right mont as everyone had almost finished eating. She put down her chopsticks, stood up, and, looking at Christopher Turner and Sophia Wood, her expression was very serious and earnest.
