"We will accept your terms. 200 million Trell, and you give us the two fragnts," Esralda replied, sipping on so tea. "No strings attached, just a simple exchange."

Caedia spoke up before he could.

"I think we should raise the number slightly."

"And why would we do that?" Victoria asked, puzzled. "His initial offer was 100 million for a fragnt, so it's only natural to assu he'd want 200 million for two fragnts."

Rael listened to their conversation with a smile and finally chid in. "300 million Trell."

Caedia's eyes widened as she turned toward him. "Rael... I think you should go slower... maybe? Why not try lower incrents to get—"

"Hmm..." Esralda glanced at the two shocked empresses and waved them away.

"I'm on her side this ti..." Caedia muttered, glancing between Rael and Esralda. "Even for us, 300 million Trell is a lot of money. It might even destabilize our entire economy for the next year or two."

"The key fragnts are more important than so lousy money we can get by taking a loan from the Scorched Lands," Esralda replied with a small smile. "Even if I went ahead and tried lowering the price, he would've gone ahead and increased it, isn't that right?"

"Don't shoo ," Caedia said, and after he didn't reply, she left the room with a frustrated look and was followed by the mumbling Victoria.

Nonetheless, the two were finally alone in a room together, and since Rael wasn't a pushover, he cut straight to the point.

"The money?"

Esralda stared at him silently for a mont and extended her hand, which he swiftly accepted.

"And the fragnts?" Esralda asked. However, he didn't give them up just yet.

"Are you enjoying yourself over there, Bertha?" Rael said with a smirk.

Esralda's eyes widened, but they soon returned to normal as she let out an exhausted sigh.

"Couple days ago, doesn't matter though," Rael replied, readying himself for the worst.

"I see..." Esralda muttered. "The Spider Monarch would like to have a chat with you. Do you accept?"

Rael scoffed. "Do I have a choice?"

"No," Esralda stated coldly, and in the very next mont, her pink hair turned black, and several spiders began crawling out of her mouth, stationing themselves on the table.

And of course, the pressure in the entire room increased drastically, making it hard for him to breathe.

Guess that's her, Bertha, the Spider Monarch, Rael thought with a poker face.

"First of all, I'm glad you've made it here safely," Bertha said and gestured for the spiders to grab her a glass of wine. "Also, don't call Bertha. My na is Beatrice."

"Cute na for a spider," Rael remarked, causing her to giggle.

"I suppose it is, isn't it?" Beatrice smiled. "Now, you might be confused, but I assure you, I have no intention of fighting you here."

"Is that right?" Rael replied, glancing at the pop-ups that thankfully appeared.

"Tell , are you overly reliant on skills?" Rael brought up, kicking his feet up on the table. "Or do you just enjoy watching and tornting everyone through your underlings' eyes?"

"Now, why would you say that?" Beatrice pouted. "Why would I hurt you before our big fight, dear Rael Sutekh?"

Rael tilted his head. "Are you reading my mind?"

"Aren't you supposed to be mad that I'm looking into your mind?" Beatrice said, then closed her eyes for a few short monts before reopening them.

However, she was even more confused than he expected, so she closed and reopened her eyes multiple tis until she leaned back in the chair, looking at the ceiling.

"I can't see past a month...?" she muttered. "Do you have so kind of ntal block? No... no you don't..."

Beatrice seed to be slowly dropping her normal girl persona, and as she did, her eyes suddenly began glowing, and the pressure he felt monts ago increased severalfold.

But that was precisely the mont Rael was waiting for.

Her expression twisted, and just as he prepared himself to cut off her head, her hair suddenly lost its black luster and instead returned to the bright pink.

Rael stared at the body, puzzled.
