Chapter 291: Boons, And Training The Ducklings
Rael took a deep breath as he dropped to the ground, his vision turning blurry.
But before he passed out, he took one last glance at a pop-up that had appeared.

Haa… Rael let out a sigh, and without wasting a second, poured all his newly gained stats into Constitution.
Constitution: 20 → 31
His vision was no longer blurry, but the pain, as well as the numb feeling around his chest, was really uncomfortable.
Even so, he took a glance at his status.

Pushing through the pain, he realized he had gotten a new title.
When he tapped it, so interesting information appeared.
—The Chosen One: When you’re within 1 kiloter of a chosen hero, you will be alerted. Experience gain slightly increased. Title will evolve once all the heroes have been slain.
A shiver ran down his spine as he focused.
Yet he couldn’t feel anything off, which ant there were no heroes nearby.
He let out a relieved breath.
He really would’ve hated to kill these siblings here.
As he turned to the side, he saw both of them running toward him, their faces riddled with shock and worry.
Jane crouched down and propped his head on her thighs.
As for Minos, he sat down beside Rael’s abdon and pulled out a bandage.
“What are you two doing?” Rael asked, his voice hoarse. “I’m fine. Give an hour or two to heal up. No need for the bandages.”
But Minos didn’t listen as he began wrapping Rael’s abdon up frantically, and then did the sa for his leg.
Rael couldn’t help but groan at their insistence, but he still let them finish.
A few minutes later, he was all bandaged up, and when he looked up, he saw Jane’s pouting face.
More surprising was her missing eye, which showed so considerable growth.
Maybe with a couple more points in Constitution, it might actually grow back.
“Alright, enough,” Rael said sternly. “Prop up, I’m lying on a rock.”
“M-My bad,” Jane mumbled as she helped him stand up.
Upon examining his wounds, he realized he was fine.
Or for the most part, at least.
His abdon was purple, and so were his legs.
But there was also the problem of one of his lungs being frozen, making it really hard to breathe.
Aside from the frostbite that would disappear after a few hours, he was mostly unhard.
Yet he couldn’t help but look back on the fight.
If Yun had more experience in using his skill, or if he had managed to sohow evolve his class, then Rael wouldn’t have stood a chance.
All Yun had to do was expand his barrier slightly, either to push Rael away or just redirect the cold from a specific area.
But in the end, he didn’t do anything.
I guess being the top ranker in Sketa Online can only take you so far when your actual life is on the line, Rael thought with a painful chuckle. Fucking snake.
Of course, he expected that by the ti he found the others, they’d have more experience, making the fights much more difficult.
Still… I’ll have to—
“This is…” Jane trailed off, her face paling.
“Good thing you left, eh?” Rael remarked, turning to Minos, who had a similar reaction to his sister.
“Hey, what happened to the rat after it died? Can you resummon it?”
Minos flinched, then shook his head.
“After it died, I lost connection to it. The glowing slot in my mind also disappeared, so now there’s 10 empty slots,” he replied.
“I see…” Rael nodded. “Let’s get you so puppets before we enter the tro then, shall we?”
Jane pinched Rael’s arm.
“Not in that condition. You just sit by,” she said firmly. “If your injuries increase and we enter the tro system with three cripples… we’re going to die instantly.”
Rael’s brow twitched.
“Fair point. Sure, show what you’ve got…”
.
.
.
“Kya! Kill it!”
Minos raised Rael’s bronze sword in the air, then swiftly brought it down, missing the skeleton soldier completely.
“…”
The skeleton soldier turned around and threw a fist straight at Minos’s jaw.
It connected, and with a crack, Minos was knocked out cold.
Jane’s fists trembled as she thrust the prop staff straight at the skeleton.
Yet instead of doing any real damage, it simply lodged between its ribs, getting stuck.
Jane’s eyes widened, and before the skeleton could cause any real damage, Rael picked up a nearby rock, approaching it.
And of course, with a simple thwack over the head, the skeleton’s skull split open as it fell to the ground.
-55! Fatal Hit!
Rael let out a sigh, turning toward the panicking Jane and the knocked-out Minos.
“I’d say that was a good attempt, but… you know.”
“You told not to use magic!” Jane retorted. “I can’t even see properly. How am I ant to aim the staff correctly?”
She pointed at her brother.
“And why’d you give him a heavy sword? He couldn’t even—”
“Okay, okay, shut up,” Rael cut her off. “Complain all you want, but rember that no one’s going to play fair in this world.”
He narrowed his eyes.
“Thankfully, we’re very close to a tro, so until we enter it…” Rael trailed off, a sadistic grin forming on his face.
“You two will be undergoing so serious training.”
