Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster Chapter 324: The Blood Moon Arena’s Finale?
Rain brushed himself off and shot Rael a glance.
A few seconds had passed, and they knew that sothing was up.
Even after killing the last team and receiving the pop-up, the Blood Moon arena didn’t end.
"Say... How did you escape?" Rael asked with a slight smile. "You know, I always thought you were a bit different considering you hadn’t shown anything of interest. I an... a simple parrying skill and so Aura manipulation? That’s la. But I guess that wasn’t all there was to you, was it?"
Rael chuckled and readied his stance, slightly surprising Rain.
"What are you doing?" Rain’s brows furrowed. "We won, so there’s no need for us to fight anymore."
"Nah." Rael shook his head. "You had quite a tragic backstory that nearly made forget that all the heroes here are pieces of shit. Let’s see... since all of their powers ca from what they used to excel at, then what’s yours? Hmm..."
I have no idea, but he might be generous enough to say.
Yet no answer ca.
Instead, Rael glanced past Rain and noticed a peculiar sight.
The people that Maria had been in control of suddenly stopped, their heads expanding rapidly until, eventually, all their heads popped.
"..."
So being on their team automatically got them killed... yikes.
Even so, Maria and the others spotted the two of them and began approaching.
A few monts later, they arrived.
Yet upon noticing the tension, frowns appeared on their faces.
"You’re not seriously thinking of fighting, are you?" Jane asked.
Rael shrugged. "Looks like there’s no other way to end this little ga other than to kill one of them."
When in reality, he was planning on killing both.
But before Rael could propose an idea, Maria stepped up, a wide smirk on her face.
"Let’s have a fight," she said, staring at Rain. "You wanted to, didn’t you? That way, you won’t have to fight Aster, or whatever this guy’s na really is."
Rain raised a brow as a blue aura suddenly covered his body, the sa one Rael had seen the other day.
Just this ti, it was far more condensed, and it actually seed powerful.
But it was almost like Maria wasn’t worried in the slightest as she simply stared at Rain with a smile.
"That’s a neat trick. What was it again... Hatred Manipulation?" she comnted, tilting her head. "Your mind is full of wonders. But by far, you’re the biggest hypocrite I’ve seen to date."
She took one step forward, her smile widening.
"You have a mont of grief, yet that grief soon turned into greed. Sure, you hated beyond belief, but that hate was also what drove you to attempt to replicate my thods," Maria said, her voice turning cold. "But by doing so, you got the opposite effect. Instead of actual hypnosis, all you did was implant a seed of hatred in each of your patients."
She twirled on her heel playfully. "But that seed ca not from you being good at hypnosis. It all stemd from how terrible you were. You got the hatred of all your clients, and because you weren’t able to fix their problems, they ended up killing themselves, leaving their family mbers with your credentials as the self-proclaid greatest hypnotist... pfft... what a joke you were."
The mont the last of her words fell, the fight finally broke out.
Rain took one step off the ground and, like a rocket, arrived in front of Maria.
His blue aura turned thicker and darker by the mont, and just as it was about to reach her, Rain suddenly froze.
He took a step back, his eyes widening bit by bit as he realized he was no longer in control.
"If I can look into your mind, what makes you think I can’t control you?" Maria asked.
She raised her hand, and with it, Rain’s hand seed to rise as well.
Then, she put that hand over her own neck, which Rain mimicked.
And in the next mont, she slashed, causing Rain’s neck to burst open.
Maria grinned in satisfaction, and yet...
He’s not dead yet? Hmm... Rael thought, when all of a sudden, Rain broke out from her control and slashed his hatred-aura-covered hand down at her.
Her eyes widened in surprise as she tried to dodge, but it was too late.
"AHH~!" Maria scread, clutching the stump where her right arm used to be.
But before she could even glance back at Rain, he took a step forward and slashed again, cutting off her other arm, then her legs, and finally, he stabbed straight into her abdon, drawing a laugh from her in return.
"Pfft... Hah~ Yeah... this wasn’t not as fun as I imagined," Maria said, blood dripping down her mouth.
Rain scoffed. "You deserve a dog’s death for everything you’ve done."
Maria’s smile widened as her eyes slowly lost color.
But that was when sothing unexpected happened.
A chuckle rang out from the side, and once Rael turned toward it, he saw a completely unscathed Maria walking toward them.
What the... Rael looked back at the ground. To his surprise, her previously mutilated body was gone.
But just as he thought it couldn’t get any weirder, Rain’s body began to convulse rapidly as he fell to the ground.
His arms and legs expanded, then suddenly blew up, and that was when blood spurted out of his abdon like a fountain.
He stared up at Maria in shock, but no matter how many tis he moved his mouth, no words ca out.
Eventually, a single tear fell as his eyes turned hollow, and just like that...
"Phew." Maria let out a relieved breath. "For a mont, I thought I was going to die."
She t Rael’s gaze and flashed a smile.
"You didn’t really think I’d co here unprepared, did you?"
Rael’s brows furrowed, and in the next mont, a pop-up appeared.
But despite the hidden scenario finishing, Rael noticed sothing intriguing.
Not a single person in the stands moved, nor did the two familiar figures he had seen earlier stand up.
It was almost as if they were expecting sothing to happen.
And of course, they were right.
