Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster Chapter 373: Cut Off
Chapter 373: Cut Off
“No, you can’t,” Anubis corrected. “You’ve used a Divine-ranked skill despite not being ascended yet. Your powers are beyond what’s possible for your level, and so are Rael’s. That’s not necessarily good. If you use a skill of that caliber again, you will disappear from this universe.”
“Then I can ascend!” Zafira said, stretching her hand forward and grabbing hold of Anubis’s collar. “If I ascend, can you send there?”
Anubis stared at her for a mont before pointing ahead.
“It’s too late.”
The mont she uttered those words, Zafira’s eyes widened.
“Huh? Did he just…” Lilith muttered.
Zafira caught onto that. “Did he remove you as well?”
Lilith’s expression seed shocked for a few monts, but then it turned slightly confused.
Her eyes turned unfocused, and her pupils dilated as she suddenly tilted her head.
“Hmm? Who?” Lilith asked, glancing around and spotting the rift. “Why were we watching this again?”
“A fight broke out between two powerful people,” Anubis chid in. “It seed pretty interesting since it was happening on your continent, so I decided to show it to you. But it looks like it’s over now.”
What…? Zafira let go of Anubis and took a few steps back.
Even more so, a few pop-ups appeared in front of her.
Feeling that sothing terribly wrong was happening, Zafira didn’t hesitate to pick up the tip of her sword, then bring it down straight onto her wrist.
She began carving letters.
R, a, e, and just as she was about to finish the na, she halted.
Her eyes dilated slightly, and her brain felt as if it had been covered in a thick fog.
But then, her vision cleared as she glanced down at her wrist, her eyes widening.
She tossed aside the sword in a panic, then glanced at Anubis and Lilith, who were staring at her with puzzled looks.
“You okay?” Lilith asked. “Want to heal you?”
She puffed out her chest. “And no, just because I’m a demon, that doesn’t an I can’t heal you. In fact, my healing is so strong, I was able to nd the entirety of the Demonic lands! Hahaha!”
Despite her cheerfulness, Zafira’s gaze remained fixed on the three letters she had carved into her wrist.
Rae.
When she glanced at them, she felt as if a pit had ford in her stomach. Soon after, tears began streaming down her cheeks once more.
“Huh…?” Zafira brought her hands up to her face. “Why am I crying…?”
“You might have picked up so masochistic tendencies from being around ,” Anubis replied plainly and slashed her hand upward, closing the rift. “Not that I’m calling myself a masochist. It’s more of a figure of speech, you know?”
“Don’t you feel like we’re forgetting sothing?” Zafira asked, wiping away her tears. “I could’ve sworn there was sothing… sothing… I don’t understand…”
“Right… Anyways, how did I end up here again?” Lilith mused, glancing around. “Nice palace, by the way.”
“There’s no need for flattery,” Anubis replied with a smile. “As for how you got here? You might’ve used one of my shrines. I have set up two on the Dralgur Continent.”
“Didn’t you say you were fighting?” Zafira asked. The mont she did, a sharp headache shot through her mind, causing the sa thick fog to cloud her mind again.
“If I was fighting, I wouldn’t be uninjured, now would I?” Lilith chuckled.
All of a sudden, a piece of her slightly cracked horn fell to the ground with a thud.
“Uhh…” Lilith stared at it motionlessly. “Now that I think about it… my MP is much lower. My HP is also slightly decreased. How odd…”
Zafira felt like sothing was wrong, but no matter how much she thought about it, she felt like there was a huge gap in her mories.
There were so lingering emotions swirling around her heart, such as affection. She knew for a fact that the affection was not only reserved for her parents.
It was… different. More intimate.
And once she glanced at the three letters carved into her wrist, those feelings flared up again, just this ti, in a much bigger wave.
It was obsession, love, and even deep affection. Whoever these letters belonged to was soone important to her, and yet no matter how much she tried, she couldn’t recall this person’s na.
But that was when she rembered sothing.
My sword… I was trying to carve a fourth letter in my wrist before I stopped, Zafira thought, her brows slightly furrowing.
At the sa ti, because of her healing, the injury on her wrist slowly began to heal.
Yet just as it seed the letters would vanish, they turned into scars instead.
It was almost like her body didn’t want to get rid of that na.
Zafira’s heartbeat increased drastically, but as she looked around, she realized that she was the only one who felt like sothing was off.
Despite that, as much as she wanted to find the person whose unfinished na was carved into her wrist, she had sothing she had co here to do.
Sothing extrely important, and sothing that, if she managed to accomplish, would significantly increase her potential.
She just hoped that by doing so, she would get so clues. Maybe she could even recall the last letter to finish off the na.
Zafira clenched her jaw, wiping the blood from her wrist and the tears from her eyes.
And then, she t the gazes of the two won before her.
Especially Lilith’s gaze.
“What are you going to do?” Zafira asked. “You didn’t just co here to train, right?”
“Maybe?” Lilith replied, turning to Anubis. “Can I train? It’s not like I have anything better to do.”
“You have a kingdom to rule,” Zafira replied with a pout.
“Demons are very self-sufficient. They can probably live without a queen for two centuries. So I can sit back and relax, unless you don’t want here?” Lilith asked, putting on a hurt look.
But as Zafira was about to reply, Anubis spoke up instead.
“You can stay. She needs a sparring partner.”
