The late-night talk with Zafira went about as he expected.

She was both angry at him and jealous. He did his best to reassure her, and after the whole night of movie watching and cuddling, he was sure the two were on the sa page again.

He also ntioned Lilith, and to his genuine surprise, Zafira had agreed to have a talk with her.

Albeit, Rael did sense a lie at that ti, so he didn’t have his hopes too high up. But if anything, he was satisfied. These past couple of days were most likely the most fun he’d had in a while, and for that, he was grateful.

Nonetheless, being wide awake and with Zafira still sleeping beside him, Rael got dressed and stepped outside, not forgetting to leave behind so delicious food for Zafira, as well as a kiss on her forehead.

Even the walk to the staircase teleporter and through the royal palace felt welcoming. The people didn’t rember him, but that didn’t change the fact that every single person here saw him with Zafira, and they automatically assud the two of them were together.

His stupid smile continued for a while until he eventually reached the boutique. He hadn’t used his mana to scout it out ahead of ti, but even then, he didn’t expect to see Vatyra and Uriel playing by the table and occasionally taking a bit of food.

I was planning to check my Premium Roulette, my money, levels, and then finally Ascend to Grade 2. Hmm… Though I guess this is fine, Rael thought, quietly sitting down beside them.

“Hi, papa~” Uriel waved. “Mom said you’ll take out to see other planets too. Is that true?”

Rael raised a brow, glancing over to Vatyra.

She avoided his gaze, but it was clear she had been keeping an eye on him.

Still, he turned back to Uriel and flashed a warm smile.

“Of course, Uriel. I’ll take you out soon, okay?”

A wide smile appeared on Uriel’s face as he began aggressively nodding. Honestly, even if he hadn’t done the deed to conceive this child, it really felt like his own.

Therefore, he gave Uriel a few pats on the head and chatted about how he was doing. After all, it must’ve been exhausting hanging out with Vatyra.

But it seed like Rael’s perception of Vatyra was way too distorted, so much so that he failed to realize he had started calling her mom, not mama.

“We went fishing together. Oh! Mom taught how to cook as well!”

“Umm… Mom also taught how to fight. I beat a few monsters without killing them.”

“Ah, we also snuck inside a store and borrowed so food. Hehe…”

The last part was a little questionable, but still, this shed a new light on Vatyra.

And so, he did what he likely should have done earlier…

“I’m sorry for lashing out at you,” he said. “I was a little frustrated, so I took my frustration out on you. You’re a much better mother than I am a father to Uriel.”

Vatyra just stared at him, then crossed her hands.

“It took you a while to realize.”

She lowered her head slightly.

“I took him to Zafira. They talked for a while, and it looked like they got along just fine. I didn’t speak with your wife, but she seed like a kind and caring person.”

Rael nodded in appreciation. He had heard everything through Zafira. She showed him a few movies while he was out with Lilith.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

She also ntioned that despite Vatyra’s tough exterior, she was enjoying the movies even more than the two of them combined. But, since I want to make ands, I won’t bring it up.

He cleared his throat and leaned back in his seat, a serious expression appearing on his face.

“This week has been peaceful. The next might be peaceful as well, but then again, whenever it’s so peaceful, sothing bad is bound to happen.”

Vatyra paused, understanding what he was getting at.

“Solenne is bound to strike soon. I’m not really sure how you’re planning on dealing with her because as much as I hate to say it, even if I were to go all out, I would probably lose against Solenne.”

“That’s what I’m worried about,” Rael replied. “She can strike and kill all of us at any mont. I know what I got myself into, and I definitely know what I got the others into as well. But if possible, I’d like to avoid dragging Zafira or Lilith into this fight.”

Vatyra sighed. “That’s impossible.”

“I know.” Rael leaned back even further, nearly falling. “But I believe so degree of wishful thinking could cheer up. After all, when all this fighting truly begins, I doubt I’m even going to be able to get so quality sleep until the war is over.”

Vatyra stared at him, then tapped the table rhythmically.

“Would this be your first war?”

Rael nodded.

“It would be my second. Except this one’s several billion tis larger.”

The war against Aztera was brief and overshadowed by the Five Seats’ interference. So, at the end of the day, he really was green in this stuff.

“I see…” Vatyra muttered. “Well, there’s usually a saying that one man can’t change the outco of battle, but it’s total bullshi—I-It’s a lie.”

Giving the innocent Uriel the side eye, she continued:

“In the face of absolute power, numbers matter very little. You could have a billion ants and then two flathrowers. You would need to have four flathrowers if you wanted to have a fair shot at Solenne… Maybe even eight.”

As cheesy as it sounded, she was right. The majority of the problem was the number of people in her army. As it stood, he was positive he could take out a lot, but definitely not several quadrillion.

But that was just him now. He hadn’t even begun practicing his Laws properly, nor had he gone dungeon diving and leveling up.

Yet hearing Vatyra’s words sparked a fire within him. He had been taking things way too passively once again, but maybe, for starters, he should start getting more overpowered.
