The fla concentration was obviously higher around the targets.
As they moved the flas moved as well and the fire birds were after them. The group didn't stand a chance. Haziel and her partner moved out imdiately, letting the fire birds deal with the targets.
Similar traps were established all over the place and the tiny groups that were split open were targeted one by one. With every ambush, Sam made use of the environnt and the natural danger zones of the planet to the maximum extent.
The leaders of the teams back at their main base were flustered.
Because they didn't even spend a whole day in the planet and they were already subjected to a ridiculously high death count. anwhile, the gambler academy team, managed to pull off a great start to this battle.
And it was indeed just a start.
As the days progress and the chaos raged in that planet, the other academies that kept their people there disappeared. The local forces blocked off both the Olympians and the Gambler academy mbers, keeping themselves neutral from it all.
However, they did know that no matter who won, their days of being independent are over. Even if the winner is extrely generous, they would still have to live in fear of pissing off their new boss.
Explosions, beast stampedes, traps, lures, captures, torture, undead creatures.
Sam used every trick he could think of and at one point, he only used the resources that he could find on that planet. He didn't use any of his own resources apart from the few undead and puppets he already had in the field.
As the battle progressed…. Around the third day, under Haziel's lead the gambler team conducted a raid.
They all sneaked upon one specific location where the opponents have been more active than the rest.
The green portal.
At exactly three points, each three miles away from the green portal, the gambler team split into three teams occupied their spots. They set up a concealnt formation based on Sam's design and started building the apparatus for their next move.
Haziel was busy setting up the nodes, when one of her teammates asked.
"Haze, do you really think we should be doing this?"
"Well, we did agree that we will follow all the instructions. So, we cannot chicken out now."
"Still… don't you think this would be a bit too cruel? I put myself in their shoes and I am terrified to even think about enduring it."
"Then don't think about it. This is war after all. We cannot have second thoughts. And do you think the Olympians will have a second thought about do this to us if they were in our place?"
The teammate was silent and finished setting it up.
She contacted the other two units.
"All set?"
"All set."
"All set here as well."
"Alright, on three. Activate the formation.

*BOOM*
With a explosion, all three formation set ups activated. The nodes surrounding a giant pillar that stood a couple of hundred ters tall, glowed up with the concentrated energy and all that concentrated energy was diverted into that central pillar.
The energy dispersed in the forms of beams into two directions.
Similar phenonon happened in the other two pillars as well.
Light beams flew over and they all connected together, creating a perfect triangle and massive light curtain, or rather energy curtain, since they were energy beams. The mont they connected, a spatial pull dragged all three units away and sent them back to the base.
Sam was there looking at the screen. The energy beams that were connected slowly disappeared along with the pillars that created them.
The green portal which was in the middle of a miles large triangle is now clearly visible.
"They disappeared?" Haziel asked in confusion.
"Yeah."
"But you said they are used to block the way out through the green portal. Why did you deactivate them?"
"Who said they are deactivated? They are just not visible."
"Not visible?"
"You will see."
As he mumbled, they saw a team of Olympians flying towards the green portal.
"Why did they co? Didn't the concealnt formation work?"
"It only worked until the activation part. Now, don't disturb and watch this. This will be good."
As they watched, the team that ca to check on the situation, dashed to the portal. It was embedded into a crevice in the middle of a rocky land.
There were no perceivable threats and they didn't see or sense anything odd of bad around. But as they closed in…
The man in the lead, wearing his Hephaestus uniform was the first to feel the effect. He felt like he entered a zone of extre danger. His whole body felt vibrations that were abnormal. It was almost like he was sitting on a trembling object.
But that effect only lasted a couple of seconds. Because before he could digest that properly, the second effect has shown its rear end.
Very small gashes, that didn't even bleed at all, appeared on the body of the man. The gashes were extrely faint, to the point he didn't even feel it.
And that's exactly what he did.
He just ran in.
Then, the final effect.
The gashes widened and they bled out. The man halted in his tracks, shocked at what he felt all over. The gashes were so consistent and close together, he felt hurt all over. Its like he was being subjected to pain with utmost consistency.
As the blood squirted out, it was followed by the chips of the flesh flying away. They didn't just co out of the gashes. They spread out like sothing was forcefully spreading it out and sending it around like ripples.
As the blood spread out, it started vibrating and it felt so much like vibrations the man felt when he just entered the field.
The intensity of the vibration increased and made the body tear apart faster. With increased strength, the body, along with its flesh and bone dissipated into a bloody mist that spread out.
