"Sam.
Sam.
Stop. We need to talk."
Ling Tian followed Sam. But Sam didn't stop. He walked in the streets slowly, taking in the sights of the city. His face was blank, there was no expression of anger or rage. There was no fear. No desperation.
He didn't even look like a person who almost got killed a couple of days ago.
Ling Tian who followed him got frustrated.
He extended his hand and Sam who was a few ters away stopped in his tracks.
He appeared in front of Sam and said.
"We need to talk."

Fifteen minutes later.
Inside the Dean Wharton's office. Sam was sitting along with Ling Tian, Wharton and Dove.
"What are you planning to do?"
Ling Tian asked. But Sam didn't reply. He just leaned into the chair. He was sitting lazily, as if he couldn't care less about the three other people in the room.
"Sam, I am asking you. What are you planning to do?" Ling Tian's voice turned colder.
Sam looked at him with the sa blank face and replied.
"You are acting as if you don't know at all, Ling Tian. What do you think I would do?"
"You can't do it."
"I will do it."
"Sam, until now, everything you have done is within the bounds of students. But now, if you do sothing out of hand…. It will be hard for to protect you."
"Oh? You have been protecting all along?" Sam's question irked Ling Tian. He knew he failed to predict the attack. So, he didn't even make any arrangents. Sam got almost killed.
"Still. You can't do this. You will be fighting a losing battle. Let the academy handle it. I will try to give you a satisfactory result."
"So, you are going to strip that man of his title. Expel him from the academy and remove his elder status and publicly execute him for doing this, in front of all the students, elders, deans and even the outsiders?
I didn't know you loved that much Ling Tian."
Sam's voice also turned a tad bit colder.
He was neither intimidated nor moved by Ling Tian's tone or concern.
The other three were speechless.
"Sam, do you even know who attacked you?" Dove asked. She is still not sure about the details. She was only inford about the attack and Ling Tian asked for her help to contain the aftermath.
She ca back running and this is what she witnessed.
"Like the back of my hand. I know exactly who the culprit is."
"Then, you know why I cannot do much. The gods will take this as a loophole if I act. They will use people of my level to disrupt the ga." Ling Tian resigned to himself and revealed so details that shouldn't be revealed in front of Dove. His tone too, was almost pleading.
As expected, Dove was a bit surprised by those words.
"Once again, you are speaking to as if you don't know at all, Ling Tian. Just because I am playing this ga, do you think I will lose myself for this? Just to win this do you think I will put aside what I should and am willing to do?
Not a chance."
Dove who didn't know the whole picture was actually supportive of Sam, but now that she saw his adamant attitude, she felt the need to lecture him… again.
"Sam, you should learn to adapt. You need to change your mindset a bit. Or, you will sooner or later face severe consequences.
I understand it is hard to digest this. But sotis, you have to swallow the bitter pill. We will slowly think of a plan to take revenge if that is all you need.
You are in the big stage now. You can't use the old ways that you are used to. You need to change your ans."
Sam's gaze shifted to her and a small smile appeared on his face.
"You are looking at a changed man Dove. If I resort to my old ways… you wouldn't even dare to breathe the sa air as I do.
You think this is about vengeance?
No, this is about natural law.
The water should flow downstream.
The fire should burn what it touches.
A man must suffer the consequences when he tries to harm .
It is the natural order of things and I won't stop at anything to make it happen.
Unless, you are ready to kill , right here, right now. Don't even think of getting in my way.
No matter what you do, I will make this academy expel him and execute him publicly. That is the only way it ends.
If you want to stop it, either kill now or do what I asked to that elder."
As he was about to leave, he turned to Ling Tian and said.
"I will not be helping the Gambler academy, until I get my revenge and send a ssage to all your students. If anyone hinders in this, I will not hesitate to kill them."
"Sam, don't do this to yourself." Ling Tian replied with a sigh. He kinda knew why Sam is this angry. In a way, Ling Tian owed Sam a bunch of favors, because the latter was constantly doing sothing or the other for the forr.
He helped the Gambler academy way more than he hard it.
Now, a person from the sa academy tried to kill him. It's the story of his previous life, all over again.
"What should we do, elder?" Dove asked.
"Try to keep up with him and keep him safe."
Ling Tian walked out of the room. He flew in a specific direction. Towards the elders quarters.
In one particular elder's quarters, there are a bunch of them gathered together in a discussion.
Ling Tian kicked the door down and entered. His eyes landed on one particular elder.
"You just had to go and ss with him, don't you?"
