"You just had to piss him off, didn't you?"
Ling Tian spoke to that one elder in the middle with his gritted teeth. Elder Pith. One of the senior elders of the Gambler academy and the guy who made a move on Sam.
The elder turned to the side, ignoring Ling Tian.
"Are you ignoring right now?"
Ling Tian's aura raged and it was locked in on the old man. The elder's long being trembled like there was a wind shooting up his chin.
"Ling Tian, stop trying to scare . You might be stronger than , but do you think I don't know your restrictions? You can't make a move on just because I am ignoring you.
Or you would be sent packing."
Ling Tian's face froze.
Pith grinned and said.
"That's right, I know all about you and your little situation.
So, what if I tried to punish an unruly second grader? You don't have the ans to pick that bone with ."
The other elders were stunned to silence when they heard this. They were indeed supporting the elder for various reasons. At least so of them, but all of them did have concerns about Ling Tian. Last ti, Ling Tian rag-dolled Theron who was almost a nightmarish character in their eyes.
So, they were a bit scared.
But Ling Tian appeared shocked.
"How did you know?" Ling Tian asked.
"Take a guess. Who dares to leak such information?"
Ling Tian understood imdiately. He looked at the sky through the window and had to suppress his urge to curse out loud.
After a mont, he just sighed.
Ling Tian turned to Pith and said.
"Yeah, you did take advantage of the loophole. But I am sure you are going to regret it.
I maybe angry at you for making a move on him. But I am angrier because of what it brings out of a guy like Sam.
Just brace yourself."
He was about to leave, but paused and looked at the other elders…
"You guys better keep your distance. Its fine if you are not on mine and Sam's side, but don't follow Pith into your own ruin."
At that mont, Ling Tian got a communication alert. It was from dove.
"Elder Ling, we lost him. Sam disappeared from the academy realm. No one spotted him."
Ling Tian sighed.
"Even I can't guess where he could have gone to. Just figure out so probable spots and try to find him.
I do have so ideas on where to begin the search. You guys start and I will join.
And I am telling you now for the first and the last ti. Do not ever engage him. Do not try to threaten him or harm him."
He left after that.
On his way back, a million thoughts invaded his mind.
He was in a tricky situation to begin with. His power level… he shouldn't have been allowed to be in the academy realm. But Gambler used a loophole to send him here. But the other gods did put so restrictions on his presence.
Ling Tian can help the academy if there are so external threats. But if it was a conflict between Sam or any other player and the people the players provoked, then… Ling Tian cannot interfere. Theron's case…. He was too arrogant and attacked the whole academy.
So, Ling Tian could interfere.
But now, the elder targeted Sam and Sam alone.
And it was clear that it was a personal grudge, so he cannot intervene.
anwhile, the elders were talking incessantly.
"Pith, maybe you should have held back a bit. Its not normal for Ling Tian to exercise so much caution."
"Hmph… do I look like I give a fuck? Because of that bastard Sam and his antics, the Hephaestus academy retaliated. They ambushed my students and almost killed one of them.
And this is just the start. Don't tell , your students are all safe.
Why must all of us suffer, because one guy cannot keep himself in check?
I am sure you wanted to kill him as well. You don't have the balls. But I do. Let him do what he wants to do.
He is lucky to be alive, but if he acts up, I don't mind taking him down again."
Pith was feeling smug about himself. He felt powerful for so reason.
But at the sa ti, sowhere far away from the Academy realm.
In a subordinate region of one of the Norse factions. In the middle of a grand estate…
There were dozens of limbs and bodies all over. All of them chopped up like they were being prepared for so massive cooking session. Right at the center of the bloody scene, a tall muscular man with a giant axe in his hand, was standing while panting.
He was covered in blood and he was looking down at an old man who was on his knees, with his eyes full of despair.
"Why are you doing this to us?" The old man asked.
"Your great grandson was studying in the Thor academy, right?"
"Y..yes."
"He pissed off."
The axe ca down and chopped the old man's head off.
Ivar brushed the blood off his face and turned around.
"I thought there was still so ti left for the next phase of the plan. Why are you here, early?" Ivar asked Sam.
Sam looked at the bloody scene and said.
"Change of plan. I need the help of the team."
"What happened?"
"Soone from the gambler academy, pissed off."
"Who is that idiot?"
"Elder Pith. Let's go, I need to find the whole team. We have a lot of work to do."
"Alright, let's go."
Ivar and Sam disappeared using the dinsional drifter.
Similar scenes happened at various remote regions. The manager team busied themselves with massacring so low level families under their respective target academies.
This is what they were doing while they waited for Sam's call.
Now, because of Pith's stupidity, they are coming back earlier.
