Darkness.
Void.
That's all what Pith could see and feel. He couldn't feel his own skin. He couldn't feel the box that he was in. It felt like he was hanging in he void.
The worst part is, he felt powerless. He couldn't move his energy no matter how much he tried. In fact, the more he tried, the worse it beca.
Soon, he couldn't feel any energy anymore. He couldn't move at all.
His struggle beca futile.
The next mont, Sam appeared out of thin air.
"It's been a while. I am feeling itchy."
He tapped the coffin lightly.
"So, what's next?"
Ivar asked.
"I am going to capture him and place him in a very special place. I have sothing special planned for him."
With a wave of his hand, the chessboard Sam hadn't used in a long ti, ca out and absorbed the coffin along with Elder Pith Inside.
Then, he took out the dinsional drifter to take all the managers away along with him.
The courtyard returned to a stunned silence. The concealnt formation was still there and it took hours before the maid even realized sothing was wrong.
anwhile, the managers along with Sam went back to the academy realm. They entered the hub branch of the Olympian city. The managers got busy cultivating. Since Sam brought out these managers earlier than before, he might as well use them right now.
They would be great addition in his plans anyway.
While they are cultivating, of course, Sam decided to take his sweet revenge.
Inside the chess board, the coffin disappeared, and Pith got his strength back. But he noticed that is extrely limited.
Limited to Divine Plane Initiation, middle stage. He hadn't been that weak in centuries. He looked around, walking on the huge chess board, that was floating in the void.
He tried screaming, attacking, flying… but no matter what he did, he was stuck there. He couldn't get out.
After what felt like a long ti, Sam appeared in front of him.
Pith stood there frozen in shock.
"Y..You…"
"Yes, its . Sam. Don't tell , you forgot your target that easily? Particularly, after you failed to kill ?"
"Ho…how.. they…what?"
"The elder of Gambler academy. You can kill, but you can't speak?"
The elder took deep breaths and said.
"Where am I? You better let go right now, or I will kill you and extract the way out from your soul."
"Please. Try"
Sam just stood there with his arms wide open. Elder Pith extended his hand, trying to kill Sam. But his energy refused to co out of his body.
"This… is my territory, elder. You are in my place. You are in my control.
A re Divine Plane Initiation cultivator that you refuse to acknowledge. A second grader that you believed you could kill as you please, is now controlling your fate and it is a bleak one.
So, be ntally prepared. Use all the will power you gathered over the centuries you spent in this world. I am going to break it down bit by bit.
I want to see if you, who was so arrogant in trying to take my life, will have the sa arrogance when we are standing on equal footing."
Both of them disappeared and soon, they appeared on either side of the board.
The pawns and other pieces are in place.
"You need a way out. Beat in a ga of chess and you can leave."
The elder tried to say sothing, but his mouth was sealed. He couldn't even speak. After repeated attempts, he gritted his teeth and commanded the pawn to move.
After a couple of moves, Sam's took the Elder's pawn.
Both Sam and Elder disappeared and reappeared in the arena.
The Elder was stunned, but he did feel his energy co back and got ready to make a move. But Sam moved like a flash. Reaper appeared in his hand and next second…
*CHOP*
The sword sliced through the legs and Pith fell face first.
He didn't even understand what was happening to him. Before he ca back to his senses, the sword went through his neck. Slicing him clean.
They went back and one of Pith's pawns disappeared.
"So, elder Pith. How does it feel to be completely powerless in the face of death? Turns out on equal footing you aren't much. I had harder ti killing those pipsqueaks in the tournants. Fucking reputation you have…
Anyway, this is the least peaceful death you have today. Its only gonna get worse."
Soon it was another pawn.
This ti, he didn't use the reaper to kill him directly. As soon as Pith landed, Sam caught a hold of him. He manipulated the earth elent and put him under a gravitational lock. Making him hover mid-air.
A small dagger appeared in Sam's hand. He gently, started cutting the elder.
The wounds started out superficial. Sam was taking his ti. He was slow and the dagger never went deep.
The elder however, felt the torture. Every wound individually was not that hard for him to bear. But all of them together, accumulating, slowly. Bit by bit. He understood the aning of slow death.
His mind was about to collapse, when Sam killed him and sent him back.
He didn't want play chess. But Sam forced him to do so.
"This is your only way out. So, if you don't want to play… you better be prepared to stay here forever."
The elder didn't have a choice.
And he got caught the next ti again.
"You… you fucking deviant. Give a swift death if you dare."
"Do you think you have the freedom to choose your own death? The mont you tried to kill , you sign all your rights away.
You should be thanking , on your knees, for letting you live for so long."
Sam took out a whip. A tal one, with thorns protruding all over.
He also injected the elder with so dicine.
"This is a pain enhancing dicine. Your sensitivity to pain increases by three tis. I want to see if you can take it."
