Uriel scratched his cheek, then began to make his way up from the ditation floor and toward the kitchen.

’Hm, none of that still explains why I can understand him. Let’s check my status, maybe there’s sothing I missed.’

As he made his way up, he summoned his complete weave.

’Weave Status.’

His status was more or less the sa, with the additions of his most recent evolution, of course.

He decided to spend a couple of monts reading through every description of his abilities, hoping that maybe sothing related to the fox would arise, but much to his dismay, he found nothing.

Nothing was out of place.

’For now, I’ll assu my attainnts in resonance just passively made able to understand beasts in general, him included.’

Entering the kitchen floor, he made his way toward the cooking station.

’And if not, I’ll have to move on to my second assumption, which is that sohow him consuming my blood and flesh made us linked.’

’That’d explain why he’s suddenly so attached and relatively ta.’ He paused. ’We’ll see.’

Placing his hands on his hips, he looked at the cooking station with an expression that held nothing but disgust.

The cooking station itself was embedded into the circular walls of the floor, made of a strange erald and smooth material dotted with slight marks of ivory and obsidian, giving it a galactic look—a cosmic expanse of green dotted by stars of black and white.

It was quite beautiful.

But that was where anything good began and ended.

Upon the station, there was a mobile electric cooking stove, made more of plastic than tal and of such poor quality that Uriel wondered if it was even possible to cook aether-rich materials with such a thing.

Beside it, there was a cutout in the station where a tallic sink could be seen, small yet relatively clean, though Uriel couldn’t help but frown even harder when he noticed the structure had no runic enhancents.

A bit further to the right lay a wide free area, a counter that could be used to cut ingredients, prepare at, and various other things.

Above all that, cupboards were embedded into the walls, filled with ceramic plates, tal cutlery, and basic anities—from frozen at to vegetables and spices.

It was the only part of the entire station fitted with runes, ant to keep the ingredients fresh.

And... that was it.

’A travesty.’

It was a far cry from Ayah’s divine kitchen and her ridiculously expansive and beautiful house, or even her massive garden, full of fresh ingredients.

’I’ll make do with this.’ His gaze hardened. ’It’ll be a test of skill.’

He had no intention of eating the slop Mariah had cooked, but at the sa ti, he didn’t want to take out anything from the mountains of furniture he had in his dinsional space—he had other grand plans for those items.

So, he’d work with what he had.

He opened every single cupboard, taking every single item out and then laying it across the station’s counter—by ats, vegetables, spices, liquids, materials, and tools.

Then he further divided them by durability for the items and aether density for the consumables. Without blinking, he threw the cooking stove away, replacing it with a formation he etched directly into the station with his blood.

"Alright."

He stood over the new layout with his arms folded. He almost felt the manic need to slick his hair back, but knowing the little guy had only just ward up to him and was now fast asleep atop him, he restrained himself.

Instead, he cracked his fingers as he let his thoughts flow.

’So-called grand Spiral House is sohow unable to get any good quality food items and unable to make a decent kitchen.’

He barely withheld a sneer. ’Unbelievable.’

He cracked his fingers a couple more tis, then bit his lower lip in anxious thought as he montarily felt overwheld by the illusion of choice.

There were so many dishes he could make.

’What’s that dish called again...’ he closed his eyes and tapped his head, scrunching his face as he went deep to rember. ’The beef tenderloin piece that they put in dough to bake...’

His eyes snapped open.

’Beef Wellington.’

He snapped his fingers and runes flashed across the air, wood aether coalescing alongside collapsing runes to form a brand-new book that appeared in his grasp.

He opened it, pulling a pen from thin air as he began writing.

’I think they wrap it in dried at first—hm, maybe they coat each layer in butter, maybe oil? Would the olive oil burn during the baking process?’

He paused.

’Or maybe they put it after for taste? Ah, it doesn’t taste as good though.’

’Whatever, I’ll put that to the side for now. Then, if I rember correctly, they coat it with mushrooms and then maybe... sauce?’

He paused again.

’Would the sauce burn if I coat the beef with it? Can sauce even burn when coated over ti or does it glaze the at?’

He tapped his pen against his lip, unsure.

’Usually they leave the beef to be rare, sotis even blue rare, so maybe when they do that, as long as the at gets a good sear—wait no, since it’s baked it won’t have a sear what the hell am I—’

His eyes widened.

’Could I lightly sear the at first, keeping it blue, then use the sauce as a....’

Uriel furiously began to write in his thick book, picking up ingredients and inspecting them as he did so, comparing and dissecting them to test his theories.

Not too far from him, he hadn’t even noticed Mariah had reappeared, staring at him with a dumbfounded look. Or perhaps he had and was simply ignoring her, entirely engrossed in his task.

Mariah shook her head and pulled a chair from thin air, sitting on it just as glasses fell onto her nose. She crossed one leg over the other and a book appeared in her hand.

Without uttering a word or breaking his flow, she began to read.

And as the two reached a sort of silent form of harmony, Uriel heard a ping echo from his system.
