Now reading: Chapter 270: Mercury Clans from Re: Timeless Apocalypse, a Fantasy novel by Orclion.

Korynth swallowed hard, partly shocked that he had managed to sneak past her senses, but mostly ashad that a re F-Ranker could summon such a reaction from her.

In no world would anyone believe that a re mortal could startle a being such as her, a being that would have soon entered the ranks of demigods and truly began to walk towards godhood.

But then, rembering Uriel was a Pioneer...she accepted it easily. Almost instantly for that matter.

"Uriel." She said, nodding in acknowledgnt.

Uriel stared into her eyes for a few monts.

"I have questions."

"And I have answers. Ask away, and if I can answer, I will." She said imdiately, almost too eagerly.

But there was no sha on her face, nor any surprise on Uriel’s.

"Kael. Who is he?"

"He’s one of the Heirs of the Wildland’s Royal Families."

Uriel barely reacted. He already knew this.

"Is that family called the Thorne Lineage?"

Korynth’s eyes widened in shock and, shakily, she nodded. "Y-yes!"

"Mm." Uriel humd, finally confirming one of his theories.

"Are the Wildlands limited in any sort of way? Is there so kind of barrier anywhere? A clear-cut limit to the world?"

Korynth’s shock deepened even further. How could he possibly know such a thing?

"Yes."

Uriel sighed.

Many pieces of information swirled through his mind to bring him to these conclusions.

It had to be rembered that, quite so ti ago, Ayah had explained the origins of the Sentinels to him, but most importantly, she had told him that they lived in a separate pocket dinsion contained within the core of Ithuril.

The Brightlag Sphere.

Besides that, Uriel had also learned through his grandmother and Lucianna that Ithuril, even before the awakening and apocalypse, had possessed people with supernatural abilities, people who already had access to ascendancy.

But it was clear that across Ithuril, none knew about this.

Another thing Uriel knew was that Ithuril, their world, was led by very, very powerful and affluent families.

The rcury Clans.

And of those clans, Uriel knew Enoch, who was the son of the Thorne Patriarch, and Persephone, who had grown up with him and was most likely of the sa status, though from another rcury Clan.

It was also important to know that Enoch was a Spiral—Uriel was absolutely certain of it—and that Persephone, too, by virtue of retaining her mories, must have been one as well.

Then ca the final piece of the puzzle.

The Golden Circle.

Mariah had told him that before the Spirals, there ca the Tiless...and that after their joint efforts, the Tiless Spirals—him, Enoch, and all the others—were born.

The important detail here was that before their generation...other anomalies had existed on Ithuril, long before their births, long before the advent of the Tiless Spirals.

"..."

When Uriel put two and two together, everything beca clear.

The families leading Ithuril were none other than the families ford by the first Tiless of Ithuril, those who fought against the enemies of their world—whoever those enemies might have been.

And if Uriel pushed the thought even further, wouldn’t it make sense for these powerful families to create a separate dinsional space where they and their descendants could live while preparing for the awakening, just as the Sentinels did?

Dinsional spaces weren’t hard to make. With his prowess as a mage, enough ti, and enough resources, Uriel was sure he could do it himself. So why couldn’t these ancient monsters, each as talented as him yet far older, do the sa?

A while back, when Thoryl had forced him to die so that Ithuril could gain the rewards of his advent, Uriel had always wondered what could possibly force a Guide’s hand.

He had also wondered how, during the cloud trials, so people had been powerful enough to kill guardians despite being newly awakened ascendants.

The answer was clear now.

The rcury Clans.

The so-called Wildlands were nothing more than a dinsional space contained within Ithuril, created by these powerful clans.

He was still inside Ithuril.

And the Spires were now how those who lived in the Wildlands ca and went.

"...?!"

Uriel’s moons spun at neck-breaking speeds, funnelling endless spiritual essence into his mind to fuel the flow of his thoughts.

Uriel couldn’t feel it, but Korynth certainly could. Her eyes widened as she felt the weight of his mind grow and press against the fabric of the world, sohow using its laws to accelerate his thought process.

She could practically see and feel the connections and deductions his mind made in real ti.

’So that ans Ma is a Tiless. That ans Mom was one as well...probably Dad too. But why didn’t we grow up in the Wildlands...?’

’And why were people on Ithuril constantly chasing and hunting those of the Church?’

Uriel’s gaze sharpened. ’Lucianna said Ma had a lot of enemies...and Ma said that people would co to wielding only half-truths...the Loom...’

’Don’t tell she made an enemy of all the Wildlands and its rcury Clans?’ His thoughts flowed even faster. ’Is Ma...trapped here?’

His burning gaze landed on Korynth once more.

"Relative to the rest of the Wildlands, what’s Kael’s standing? Are there any gigantic cities out there? A capital of sorts?"

Korynth nodded. "Yes. There are eight capitals, each led by one royal family, and above them stands the Holy Capital, where the ancestors keep watch."

"Against the Green Horrors, I assu?"

She nodded again.

Uriel humd once more. ’I’ll need to co back to the Wildlands at so point. Whether it’s to find answers, free Ma, or simply understand what happened to our family...’

"You were betrothed to Kael, yes?"

"Yes." She said, her voice noticeably colder.

Uriel didn’t care.

"What family are you from, then? I don’t suppose royals marry commoners, do they?"

She looked at Uriel with such intense hatred that he could feel the flowing ebbs of her enraged Will. But before his own, it was entirely aningless.

He truly didn’t care.

From now on, he would be getting answers.

"I am not from a royal family. I am—"

"—from another world?"

Uriel’s smile widened just as Korynth froze and her heart skipped a beat.
