"Dad, I just..." Jas Reed didn’t know how to refute Ethan Seymour’s words. In the end, he just shook his head, "I really don’t have the mind for this right now. I just want to build a business that won’t disappoint you."
"If you want to put my mind at ease, then marry Hayley," Ethan commanded.
"No way..." Jas refused.
Hearing this, Hayley Cole got anxious: "Jas Reed, do you dislike that much?"
"I... it’s not that I dislike you, I just..." Jas was so flustered that he didn’t know what to say.
Charlotte Reed quietly tugged at Hayley Cole from behind, preventing her from erupting.
On the other side, Ethan Seymour suddenly started coughing violently, his face turning red.
"Dad, Dad!" Jas shouted, alard.
"Jas, can’t you just let ... be at ease?" Ethan struggled to grasp Jas’s wrist tightly.
"I..." Jas hesitated, unable to get the words out.
"Jas," Charlotte called softly, distressed.
"Jas, if we get married, I’ll take good care of your family," Hayley took the opportunity to say.
Everyone in the room was persuading Jas, leaving him no room to refuse.
Charlotte tily added, "Jas, for your father’s sake, can’t you compromise just this once?"
Six eyes were fixed on Jas, putting him under great pressure, and he finally had to nod helplessly, "I agree!"
"Really?" Ethan asked again to confirm, "You won’t back out?"
"Really, I won’t back out!" Jas promised.
"Yay!" Hayley exclaid, jumping up excitedly, "Mr. and Mrs., Jas agreed!"
"Yes, yes, this is great!" Charlotte wiped her tears in excitent.
Ethan also sat up briskly from the bed, "This is indeed a happy ending."
"You, you all..." The suddenly lively atmosphere in the ward left Jas completely stunned.
Jas finally reacted, and his voice changed, "You all tricked ?"
"Jas, we weren’t tricking you, we were helping you," Hayley, feeling accomplished, was in a great mood, "If it weren’t for this, how would you have co out from under Ophelia Wilson’s shadow?"
"You all used this to deceive ?" Jas angrily questioned, "Dad, do you know how worried and anxious I just was? How could you use sothing like this to trick ?"
Seeing Jas genuinely upset, Hayley also beca a little timid. She did want to marry Jas, but it didn’t an she wanted to make him angry.
They still had a life to live together; how could she let Jas be unhappy with her?
Hayley looked to Charlotte for help, and Charlotte nodded and said, "Jas, don’t bla Hayley, this was my idea."
"Mom!" Jas stared at Charlotte in disbelief, "How could you joke about Dad’s health? That operating room is so ominous!"
Hearing Jas still worried about him at this mont, Ethan felt very gratified. His son was truly thoughtful.
"Jas, don’t bla your mother; it was my idea," Ethan said solemnly.
"Jas, you worry about . Do you think I don’t worry about you?" Ethan’s voice was low and filled with profound heartache, "You got so down because of Ophelia Wilson and wouldn’t accept new feelings. How could we not be worried?"
