Emma Wells understood now that what she’d just said had been overheard by Lucy.
She had to admit, she thought Kai Bright’s suggestion was really quite good, and she was very happy about it, but she also couldn’t let the in-laws think they were trying to cling to them.
That wouldn’t be good for Lucy and would make it easy for the in-laws to look down on her.
"Lucy, about this matter..."
"Mom, this matter, you elders can talk it over among yourselves later. I still need to get all dolled up and pretty for tomorrow, I’m going to bed." After Lucy Wells finished speaking, she turned and ran back to her room, leaving Emma Wells completely stunned.
After a long mont, she finally ca back to herself and said to Old Mrs. Wells, "Tell , what’s gotten into this child, how did she turn into this now?"
"And how is this not good?" Old Mrs. Wells did not agree with Emma Wells’s view. "Lucy is great like this! She won’t let people push her around!"
It was that old way Lucy had of not daring to speak and not daring to act that really worried her.

"Do I look pretty?" Sophie Wilson asked Charles Seymour.
Charles Seymour nodded vigorously. "Pretty."
No bare shoulders, no bare back, and definitely not body-hugging.
The big skirt was flowy, the half-length sleeves were very dashing—truly the perfect dress.
It showed off Sophie’s beauty without letting other n ogle her. Perfect!
Charles Seymour certainly wasn’t going to let Sophie Wilson know about the little sche in his heart. He asked, "Shall we go now?"
"Sure." Sophie Wilson said, "If we get there early, I can still hang out and chat with Lucy in the dressing room."
As she spoke, Sophie Wilson reached out to straighten Charles Seymour’s collar, then patted his chest. "My Mr. Seymour is the most handso!"
"Mm." Charles Seymour nodded, accepting it very cheerfully.
Sophie Wilson: "..."
Her Mr. Seymour was getting more and more shaless.
So annoying, what should she do?
But she couldn’t exactly throw him away.
Sigh... he’s mine, forget it, I’ll make do and keep him.
Inside the hotel, the venue was already set up, and the dedicated makeup artist was doing Lucy Wells’s makeup.
"Wow, my Lucy is so pretty, my brother really picked up a treasure!" Sophie Wilson pushed the door open and ca in, calling out excitedly.
"Little beauty, do you regret it at all? Want to elope with ?"
"Sis, can you please spare your brother?" Kai Bright had co in to check how things were going on Lucy’s side, and who would’ve thought he’d walk right into such a explosive line.
His own little sister wanted to elope with his fiancée!
Could things get any more ridiculous?
"Hey, I’m just talking. It’s not like I’m really doing it." Sophie Wilson snorted, then complained to Lucy Wells, "Look at my brother, he’s so nervous about you he won’t even let crack a joke."
"All right, I won’t steal my sister-in-law from my brother anymore." Sophie Wilson shrugged helplessly, "giving up" with great regret.
Kai Bright shook his head in amusent and looked over at the beaming Lucy Wells. Just one glance, and he was dazed. "My wife is really beautiful."
As soon as Lucy Wells heard that, she shyly lowered her head, her cheeks faintly flushed.
"Okay, bro, hurry up and go outside to greet the guests. I’ll stay here with my sister-in-law and keep her company. Don’t worry, I absolutely won’t let anyone bother her." Sophie Wilson shoved Kai Bright out.
Kai Bright snorted and said, "You’re the one I’m afraid will bother your sister-in-law!"
"Watch it or I’ll beat you up!" Sophie Wilson shook her fist at Kai Bright in "warning."
Kai Bright left with a laugh.
Feeling on top of the world—very soon, he and Lucy’s status would be officially settled, and then Lucy would be his fiancée.
