On the other end of the call was a cold snort.
Just that one sound, as piercing as an ice needle, instantly deflated Kai Bright’s arrogant deanor like a punctured balloon.
"If Sophie is Auntie’s daughter, then she’s my cousin. What’s wrong with you calling brother?" Kai Bright mustered the courage to question Charles Seymour on the other end.
After so many years, he finally had a chance to turn the tables. He had to seize it!
Even if he was scared, he had to seize it!
Then, nothing happened. Charles Seymour hung up the phone.
"Damn it!" Kai Bright glared angrily at the disconnected phone, baring his teeth.
What’s with this person?
When he dialed the number again, the other side answered promptly.
Kai Bright sighed in frustration, "Is it really necessary? Calling brother won’t cost you anything."
"The paternity test result isn’t out yet," Charles Seymour replied indifferently.
He had no interest in gaining an additional brother.
Regarding Mason Wilson and Clarissa Taylor... Charles Seymour couldn’t help but harbor so resentnt.
If they really are Sophie’s parents, didn’t they realize their child was swapped?
"Alright, I’ll wait," Kai Bright gritted his teeth. He refused to believe there wouldn’t be a chance for him to surpass Charles Seymour in this lifeti.
The thought of Charles Seymour calling him brother... that feeling... tsk tsk tsk... just thinking about it made him feel a bit elated.
"By the way, when you took Sophie to that place for the test, didn’t she ask?" Kai Bright asked nervously.
"She didn’t ask." At the ntion of this, Charles Seymour remained calm.
"Aren’t you worried Sophie might doubt why you have such connections?" Kai Bright asked suspiciously. Sophie Wilson gave him the impression of being neither foolish nor simple-minded; rather, she was careful and intelligent.
Wouldn’t she suspect?
"Giving each other space; it’s a tacit understanding between lovers," Charles Seymour’s calm voice transmitted through the phone, and Kai Bright inexplicably felt like he was being fed a mouthful of dog food.
Seriously!
Is this how crazy people are about showing off their love now?
"Speaking of which, aren’t you afraid things will be awkward the next ti you see my uncle after hitting him where it hurts?" Kai Bright snorted, intentionally picking a quarrel.
Charles Seymour had completely overshadowed his uncle. Even without seeing it, Kai Bright could imagine his uncle’s expression at that mont—it must have been quite ugly.
"Is he more important than Sophie?" Charles Seymour asked in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Fine, you win." What else could Kai Bright say?
After uttering those three words, Kai Bright hung up the phone himself.
He wasn’t going to ask for more trouble!
On Sophie’s side, she had no idea that Kai Bright had been frustrated. After spending a few comfortable days at ho, she took Charles Seymour, following the detailed instructions provided by Julian Campbell’s assistant, and went to the film set.
After carefully checking the accommodation and the crew’s als, Charles Seymour frowned and said a couple of words to the driver, who imdiately left to handle matters.
That’s right, Charles Seymour was worried and personally escorted Sophie Wilson.
The film set was low-key, and none of the dia were invited to the opening ceremony. After the crew held their own opening ceremony, the lead actress and lead actor were called to film the first scene.
The first scene, hoping for a good on, naturally aid for a single take.
Fortunately, the lead actress and actor were skilled, and the director chose a not-too-difficult scene, so it went smoothly.
In the first three days after joining the crew, Sophie Wilson had no scenes. Benjamin Smith was considerate of her, allowing her to first get a feel for the set before starting.
As for Charles Seymour, he stayed with Sophie for a day before she persuaded him to leave.
Surely, he had a ton of things to handle; how could he stay there with her all the ti?
"Auntie, did Uncle just leave?" Julian Campbell asked, approaching Sophie Wilson as she returned.
