In the copy room, Lucy Wells whispered to Sophie Wilson as she made copies: "Fortunately, President Palr is fair in his public and private life."
She was almost scared to death just now, thinking Sophie was about to be fired.
"Yes," Sophie Wilson nodded with a smile, following Lucy Wells’ words. She had told Edward Palr on her first day about her identity and asked him not to ntion it outside.
She had accepted her sister’s "good advice" not to let their father think she was a spoiled young lady wielding power due to her status.
She wondered why she hadn’t realized before that Grace Wilson was constantly ostracizing and framing her?
Pushed to the branch office, even if she hadn’t t Charles Seymour in her past life, it wouldn’t be long before she, as the daughter with no accomplishnts, would be overshadowed by Grace Wilson, the capable and sensible daughter.
The Wilson Clan’s assets would all end up in Grace Wilson’s hands.
Since she was given a second chance, she would certainly make so achievents to show Grace Wilson.
For Grace Wilson’s "kindness" to her, she certainly had to "repay" it properly.
"Alright, I’m leaving now." After finishing her copying, Sophie Wilson waved to Lucy Wells and quickly walked towards the company exit.
As the elevator door opened, Edward Palr stepped out, smiling as he saw her: "Sophie Wilson, headed out?"
"Yes, President Palr." Sophie Wilson smiled, letting Edward Palr out of the elevator before entering herself.
"It’s hot outside, be careful," Edward Palr cautioned with a smile. After thanking him, the elevator door slowly closed.
To others, this ordinary scene seed nothing special, but to those with an agenda, it had a different feeling.
"Why is your uncle so nice to Sophie Wilson? Isn’t this concern a bit excessive?" Lucas Payten asked Eva curiously, "There are so many people out on assignnts, why treat Sophie Wilson differently?"
Eva’s eyes widened as she gasped: "Could Sophie Wilson be seducing my uncle?"
Such a bizarre conjecture resolved Eva’s inner doubts and made more sense the longer she thought about it: "It must be this way. Otherwise, why would my uncle favor her and not ?"
"I have to expose her!" Eva exclaid excitedly, about to rush out when Lucas Payten pulled her back, "Don’t be rash. You have no proof, and if President Palr truly has sothing with Sophie Wilson, without evidence, you’ll suffer."
"Yes, yes... I need to find proof first!" Eva nodded repeatedly, her eyes shining with excitent, feeling she had grasped Sophie Wilson’s weakness.
Sophie Wilson was unaware soone had caught her "weak point," as she took a car to the newly developed estate.
At this ti, the houses being sold were still bare units, unlike later when so properties would co fully furnished.
Having lived another life, her greatest advantage was knowing more than others of her ti, so naturally, closing this deal was a piece of cake.
When she erged from the developer’s office, she and the boss were already engaging in friendly conversation like old friends.
"Sophie, I’ll leave this matter to you."
"President Payten, don’t worry, the design will be ready in a couple of days," Sophie Wilson replied with a smile.
"Good, good, leaving it to you makes feel assured!" President Payten smiled, instructing his assistant, "Have Jackson drive Miss Wilson back."
"President Payten, it’s really no trouble," Sophie Wilson declined.
"It’s no trouble at all! Listen to !" President Payten insisted with a smile.
"Then thanks a lot, President Payten." Sophie Wilson smiled and accepted his goodwill, unaware soone was already waiting downstairs at her company, frustrated.
