"How did this happen? How could this happen?" Old Mrs. Wilson paced frantically outside the rescue room, hands clasped, muttering prayers to protect her daughter.
Mason Wilson arrived while the rescue was still underway.
"Mom." Mason Wilson looked at his haggard, tear-streaked mother. He felt troubled, but his sympathy was quickly suppressed when he thought of his mother’s unprincipled defense of Erie.
"Sophie is even more innocent, isn’t she?"
"Mason, you’re finally here." Upon seeing Mason Wilson arrive, Old Mrs. Wilson rushed over to him, grabbing his hand, sobbing uncontrollably.
"What happened?" Mason Wilson knew the answer but still wanted to give his family a chance to explain. Unfortunately, they clearly didn’t seize it.
"It’s all Sophie Wilson’s fault! Sophie Wilson angered your sister, causing her illness!" Old Mrs. Wilson angrily cursed, "That wretched creature..."
"Mom! Sophie is my daughter!" Mason Wilson forcefully shook off Old Mrs. Wilson’s hand, reprimanding her sternly.
Ophelia Wilson quickly supported Old Mrs. Wilson as she was shaken off, and Old Mrs. Wilson was alard, reprimanding, "What are you doing?"
"For soone like that, you treat your mother this way?" Old Mrs. Wilson glared angrily at Mason Wilson, questioning, "Are you even human?"
"Dad, the feudal society is long gone, do you want to learn to bury myself alive to serve my mother?" Mason Wilson retorted coldly.
"You... you... you unfilial son!" Old Mrs. Wilson had never expected Mason Wilson to behave so rebelliously, saying such words, causing her to tremble all over with anger.
"Grandpa, that’s not what Dad ant. Please don’t get angry, take care of your health. Aunt’s still being rescued in there." Ophelia Wilson hurriedly comforted Old Mrs. Wilson, gently patting her back.
"Mom, help keep an eye on Grandma," Ophelia Wilson said to Chaya Davis beside her.
"Okay." Chaya Davis nodded and went over to care for Old Mrs. Wilson.
The scene before him seed absurd and laughable to Mason Wilson: "You let her call Dad and call Chaya Davis Mom?"
As soon as Mason Wilson spoke, Chaya Davis awkwardly explained, "Mason, don’t misunderstand. Things aren’t as you think."
"Then how exactly?" Mason Wilson asked with a cold smile; the facts were right in front of him, what was there to deny?
"Right now, what you should be concerned about is your sister!" Old Mrs. Wilson never expected her son to be so immature, it seed his decision to drive Mason Wilson out for a while was justified, "She was nearly driven to her death by Sophie Wilson, but you still stand up for that little brat?"
"Any evidence?" Mason Wilson questioned coldly.
Did his father even rember that Sophie was his daughter?
"Uncle Wilson, I’ve already asked the security guard who ca with the ambulance. They are security from Charles Seymour’s neighborhood and can testify that Erie beca ill after calling Sophie Wilson." Jas Reed stepped forward, saying, "This matter is really a family issue, so let’s not make it too big... How about Sophie Wilson apologizes to Aunt Erie and let’s call it even?"
"Why?" Old Mrs. Wilson protested urgently upon hearing this. Her daughter was still in the rescue room, how could they just let it go?
"This matter is not over, there must be an explanation!" Old Mrs. Wilson shouted angrily, her voice hoarse; if Sophie Wilson were right in front of her, she’d probably tear her apart.
"Indeed, it’s not over." Charles Seymour’s cold voice flooded with endless lethal chill as he confidently approached with his n.
