After the receptionist hung up the phone, she smiled at Erie Wilson and said, "Ms. Wilson, please follow ."
Erie walked in haughtily, as if Peace Corporation was her own company.
In her heart, she actually thought so. Whose company was it? Charles Seymour’s.
And who was Charles Seymour?
He was Sophie Wilson’s fiancé!
And who was Sophie Wilson?
She was her niece!
Upon reaching Mason Wilson’s office, Erie had a look around with envy and said sarcastically, "Brother, your office is quite luxurious."
Much better than Benjamin’s office.
Although she couldn’t see the lavish decorations, just one look gave an indescribable sense of opulence, yet understated.
"Yes, Peace Corporation has money," Mason said calmly, almost making Erie faint with anger.
What did he an by that?
Was he showing off?
Erie bit her tongue, suppressing the rage that almost burst out, and asked, "Brother, when will you co ho?"
Mason glanced at Erie, already understanding the situation.
He had said that on purpose earlier. Based on Erie’s usual temperant, she would have either argued loudly or stord out, but she managed to hold it in.
It seed Benjamin had repeatedly warned her.
Benjamin... truly a shrewd businessman, driven by profit.
"I’m not going back." Mason’s definitive refusal made Erie frown in dissatisfaction, complaining, "Brother, how can you be so heartless? Just because you know Charles Seymour is the chairman of Peace Group, you won’t let it go? Just to ride the wave with Charles Seymour, you won’t even return to the Wilson Clan?"
"Do you even know how heartbroken Mom and Dad are?" Erie questioned righteously, "And what do people say about you? That you forsook your own parents for money, clinging to Charles Seymour — do you know how terrible that sounds?"
Mason had never expected anything from Erie’s thinking, but he didn’t anticipate her "condition" had worsened so much.
He felt a bit guilty, wondering if things would have been better if he had been more insistent back then, stopping Erie from marrying Benjamin Walton despite her dramatic protests.
Recalling Erie’s theatrics to marry Benjamin — the crying, the shouting, and his mother’s endless support — Mason sighed heavily in his heart, feeling powerless to stop it.
Forget it, it really wasn’t his fault; he had no obligation to pay the price for others’ choices.
However, Erie’s words made Mason quite displeased: "If you’re here to tell this, just go back and don’t co looking for again."
He didn’t have ti to argue with Erie.
"Brother, how can you be like this? You’re too much, doing all this for money..."
"Oh really... if not for money, why are you looking for my dad?" Sophie Wilson pushed the door open with a bang, striding in, her disdainful gaze like sharp little knives piercing through.
"Sophie Wilson, why are you here?" Erie asked in surprise.
She had to admit, Erie was sowhat intimidated by Sophie.
After all, she’d suffered at Sophie’s hands several tis.
"Why can’t I be here?" Sophie scoffed disdainfully, "This is Peace Group. I can be anywhere I like, what’s it to you?"
