Near eleven on the streets, away from main roads, pedestrians were rare, and even cars took a long ti to pass by.
Especially in winter, the desolation made one’s heart uneasy.
Lucy Wells walked quickly in small steps, through this alley on her way to the hotel she was staying at.
But at this mont in the alley, apart from a few street lights, there wasn’t even a passerby, let alone a car. The cold wind swept through, causing Lucy Wells to instinctively pull her down jacket tighter, unconsciously quickening her pace.
With a thud, a shadow fell in front of her, scaring Lucy Wells nearly into a scream, instantly freezing her in place.
In just one or two seconds, Lucy Wells instinctively turned to run.
No matter what it was, she didn’t have the mood to check.
"Ah... uh..."
A strong hand covered Lucy Wells’ mouth, not even giving her half a second to scream, naturally preventing it from attracting anyone’s attention.
"Don’t scream, I’m not a bad person." A weak voice with heavy breathing and a faint sll of blood near her ear, made Lucy Wells’ heart race.
"Listen to , take to your place, I’ll just stay the night, tomorrow I’ll leave." The man whispered.
Lucy Wells was so scared that tears rolled down her face, nodding repeatedly.
"I’ll let go, don’t scream." The man’s words received another nod from Lucy Wells.
Lucy Wells wasn’t foolish, screaming now could very likely put herself in danger; it was better to stabilize the person first.
"I, I can’t take you ho." Lucy Wells stamringly said, "I stay at a hotel."
"No problem, I’ll go with you to the hotel." The man said in a deep tone.
Lucy Wells was nearly going crazy; this person’s nerve was huge, he was determined that even at the hotel she couldn’t escape?
"Alright, then." Lucy Wells said nervously.
"But before that..." The man suddenly reached behind her and quickly took a phone out of Lucy Wells’ pocket, which was on a call, "You’re quite smart, knowing to alert others."
