"Waiting for you... with Mom." Charles Seymour spoke up, his tone hardly fluctuated, but Clarissa Taylor could clearly feel that she seed to be included as an afterthought.
If it were soone else saying this, Clarissa would definitely be a bit unhappy.
However, her son-in-law is very attentive to her daughter, making her happy about it; why would she have any objections?
Still, with such a good son-in-law, it makes her husband seem like a chump.
As the door to the private room opened, Mason Wilson said with a smile, "Everyone is here, co on, sit, sit, sit..."
For so reason, Mason felt a chill hit him, causing him to shiver unexpectedly; is the weather really this cold this season?
Clarissa glanced at Mason, who hadn’t noticed, and sighed inwardly. Oh well, Mason is already very good, but he’s overshadowed by Charles Seymour.
You can’t bla Mason; Charles has just set the bar too high.
Mason faintly sensed sothing was off with his wife’s mood, but he couldn’t pinpoint the issue even after mulling it over, so he turned to his daughter for help.
Sophie Wilson drove here with her mom; if sothing happened, it must have been on the way, right? What’s going on?
"Dad, why didn’t you go out to greet Mom?" Sophie asked in a low voice near Mason’s ear.
"Didn’t Charles go to greet her?" Mason asked in confusion.
"He’s my fiancé, not my mom’s husband; it’s not the sa thing, is it?" Sophie gave her dad a sideways glance, thinking how her dad really lacks in this aspect compared to Mr. Seymour.
Mason might be good at managing Wilson Corporation and doing well at Peace Corporation, but he’s certainly not dumb. He instantly understood what Sophie ant and asked in shock, "Wasn’t I keeping your uncle company?"
"Exactly, so why didn’t you rush out to greet her and leave Charles here?" Sophie asked.
"Is it appropriate for to rush out like that?" Mason was even more shocked.
"Of course, it’s not entirely appropriate, but when it cos to your own woman, what’s appropriate and inappropriate doesn’t really matter." Sophie’s matter-of-fact attitude stunned Mason completely—could you really handle things like this?
"Look at all the things Mr. Seymour does for ; what’s suitable for others doesn’t matter. As long as I’m comfortable, it’s fine." Sophie laughed and patted Mason on the shoulder, "Dad, you’re really weak in this area."
"A woman can be sensible herself, but she should never be forced to be sensible." Sophie raised her eyebrows with a smile, imparting wisdom to Mason, "You can spoil her recklessly; a woman might tell you not to do it next ti, but you absolutely cannot make her be so understanding right from the start."
"I think, you weren’t like this at the beginning, right Dad? Many things get overlooked because you’re used to them, but they can affect relationships. Who wouldn’t want their feelings to be constantly noticed by the person they’re closest to?"
Mason stared blankly at Sophie, his mind a jumble of confusion.
"Sophie, what are you doing? Why not sit down quickly?" Clarissa called to Sophie, while Mason... she pretended not to see him, after all, they were an old couple.
"Coming." Sophie smiled and went to sit down.
Mason looked at Clarissa and walked over, saying, "Why didn’t you call ?"
Clarissa glanced at him oddly, "Do you even need to be called?"
