"Of course, this is my fiancée." Kai Bright was in a great mood, pulling Lucy Wells to introduce her to Sophie Lee, "Once we’ve chosen a good date, we’ll get married. You’re welco to attend our wedding."
"You’re getting married?" Sophie Lee scread in shock.
"Why are you so excited?" Kai Bright gave her a strange look, then as if he rembered sothing, he slapped his forehead and said, "Look at my mory."
"You’re the one who inford my parents that Lucy and I were dating, right?" Kai Bright asked with a smile.
Faced with Kai Bright’s gaze, Sophie Lee shrank back for a mont, then straightened up to admit, "Yes, it was . I just felt that Lucy Wells..."
"Thank you so much." Kai Bright was genuinely grateful, "If it hadn’t been for you, my parents wouldn’t have had the chance to squeeze in ti to co back. Now it’s great, Lucy and I have settled everything. You’re like half a matchmaker for us."
Sophie Lee’s face turned green, what’s going on here?
"Mother Bright, didn’t you co back to break them up?" Sophie Lee asked in disbelief, turning to Mother Bright.
"Why would I break them up?" Mother Bright asked, puzzled, "Lucy is such a good, understanding girl, perfect to be my daughter-in-law and keep my mischievous son in check. I couldn’t be happier, if it weren’t so rushed, I’d wish they got married tomorrow."
Sophie Lee stumbled, nearly fainting.
How did things turn out like this?
"Kai, this kid, found such a great girlfriend and didn’t even tell us. We could’ve been happy earlier." Mother Bright complained, giving Kai Bright a reproachful look.
Kai Bright raised his hands in surrender: "Mom, with you like that, how could I dare tell you? We just had dinner with Aunt and Grandma, and settled our marriage so quickly... Look at them, Aunt and Grandma haven’t even digested the news yet."
Emma Wells listened, feeling a bit awkward while looking at Kai Bright’s parents; she was genuinely taken aback.
She thought there would be a tough battle after they arrived, but surprisingly, a few sentences from Kai’s parents settled the kids’ marriage, and they didn’t even have a chance to refuse.
It’s not that Mother Bright was forceful, rather she was considerate of them, but the speed at which things happened was... no, it was too unexpected.
"Sister." Mother Bright gave Emma Wells an apologetic smile, "I’m just an impatient person, hope you don’t mind."
"Not at all!" Emma Wells waved her hands repeatedly, from the beginning, Kai’s parents had treated them with a lot of respect, without any airs of wealthy people. They kept asking for their opinions on everything, but insisted on first settling the kids’ engagent.
"How can you be like this?" Sophie Lee cried in frustration, "Young Master Bright, I’ve always liked you!"
"Thank you, but I don’t have feelings for you. I hope you find soone you love deeply in the future." Kai Bright smiled, wishing Sophie Lee well.
And then... Sophie Lee stord out in anger.
Kai Bright scratched his head, "Did I say sothing wrong?"
"No, you didn’t." Mother Bright affird, patting him on the shoulder, "When it cos to feelings, you have to be straightforward. Don’t leave room for imagination, or it’ll hurt all three people involved!"
"Lucy, my son may be a bit flighty at tis, but he’s a good person, as you’ve seen, definitely not that kind of playboy." Mother Bright didn’t miss the chance to speak well of her son.
