Gu Qiaoqiao stopped talking to Xiao Wen and instead walked along the creek towards the wooden bridge.
Then she quickly reached Xiao Wen and Ling Nan’s side. Ling Nan, seeking recognition, spoke up, "Sister Qiaoqiao, I know a place where the fruits are big and red, they’re delicious."
Unhappy, Xiao Wen punched Ling Nan and complained, "Why didn’t you take there earlier?"
Ling Nan scratched the back of his head awkwardly and explained, "Sister Xiao Wen, you have to climb the mountain there, didn’t you say you didn’t want to climb?"
Xiao Wen glared at Ling Nan, laughingly scolded, "Excuses!"
Then she pushed Ling Nan, "Hurry up and lead the way, we want to eat those fruits you ntioned."
The three of them laughed and joked as they headed back into the forest.
Birds startled and flew, circling in the sky.
A breeze blew from the other side of the creek, and the early sumr weather was truly cool and beautiful.
In the afternoon, seven tables were set up for a banquet in the village’s ancestral hall courtyard.
Soon, the feast began.
Gu Qiaoqiao and Xiao Wen were both young girls, so they did not require any toasting or special treatnt; they viewed it simply as a gathering.
However, Gu Qiaoqiao thought that aside from the ignorance and so brutal practices, the villagers here were indeed very simple and honest. Good is good and bad is bad, everything laid out on the surface without any scheming, being with such people is quite relaxing.
Since Gu Qiaoqiao’s rebirth, she had been facing one calculation after another; she was indeed tired, and she didn’t want these encounters.
But there’s no choice since those calculations ca one after another, she had to face them one by one.
So, this was truly a rare leisurely ti.
The Peach Blossom Brew was very delicious; in good spirits, Gu Qiaoqiao drank more, yet it didn’t affect her.
After all, in so ways, Gu Qiaoqiao’s physique was different from ordinary people.
So, a few cups of Peach Blossom Brew weren’t a problem.
Xiao Wen also drank a whole jar.
But the evening was getting late, and soon Xiao Wen and Gu Qiaoqiao went back to rest.
That night, Gu Qiaoqiao slept soundly and deeply, seemingly slling the faint fragrance of peach blossom in her dream.
After breakfast the next day, the Old Clan Leader, his son, and another clan elder set off towards the outside of the mountain with Gu Qiaoqiao and the others.
This ti they wouldn’t be back until evening.
The Old Clan Leader planned to bring so provisions, but Ling Nan stopped him, explaining that there’s plenty of food outside the province, and nothing needs to be brought.
The journey was quite peaceful, and soon they smoothly arrived at Sanshui Town.
Once there, Gu Qiaoqiao took out the business card given by Boss Gui and found a local small restaurant. These entrepreneurs don’t work alone; they all have their own networks and relationships, wherever they are, so Gu Qiaoqiao’s group smoothly boarded the small van heading to the provincial city.
They arrived at the provincial city just in ti for lunch.
Clearly, Boss Gui had gotten the ssage early and was waiting at the hotel entrance. As soon as he saw them get off the van, he quickly took them to eat.
It was the Old Clan Leader’s second ti in the provincial city; the first ti was over ten years ago. Standing at the hotel entrance, looking around, he sighed inwardly; the tis now are different, developnt is really fast.
He rembered spending ten years in one place without much change.
Yet now, the feeling is one of rapid and constant innovation.
