Capítulo 1857: Chapter 1857: Guard Commander

Xuexue glanced at them and frowned, saying, “Go change your clothes. How did you all end up such a ss? Standing at the gates of the War Prince’s Mansion, you’re representing its face, so pay attention to your image.”

The guards exchanged looks; indeed, they were in quite a disorder, all thanks to that Birdy causing trouble. But in front of the madam, they didn’t dare say anything, so they could only agree and return to the mansion to tidy up their clothes.

Just as Xuexue was about to step through the door, suddenly, a commotion arose from the street. She turned around and saw a crowd charging down the street towards the mansion…

Leading them was a well-built man, dressed in brocade clothes, riding high on a horse, looking arrogantly as he galloped down the street. Unfortunately, the eyepatch on his face severely marred his appearance. In an instant, the man was right beside Xuexue…

“Whoa!”

“Hiss…!”

The man tugged forcefully at the reins, and the horse neighed and ca to a stop.

“Madam Situ, how have you been?” His voice was eerily nacing.

Xuexue looked up to find it was the Fourth Prince.

“Without seeing the Fourth Prince, I’ve been quite well.” Xuexue smirked, appearing quite content.

The Fourth Prince leaped off his horse, his tone laced with threat: “Don’t celebrate too soon. If I spread word of your affair with that adulterer, I fear the War Prince might divorce you!”

The last ti in Xingyang City, the Fourth Prince nearly had his throat cut by Xuexue. As they say, a brush with death leaves one forever changed. After waking up, he couldn’t even eat, surviving on porridge for days before gradually recovering. His hatred for Xuexue ran deep. After recuperating for a few days, he set off on the road back to the Capital, searching all the way, but he never found their trace.

Back in the Capital, the first thing he did was check the War Prince’s Mansion, and he happened to run right into Xuexue. Seeing one’s enemy reignites old flas; the Fourth Prince even wanted to kill Xuexue. However, as his heart was set on sothing that required Xuexue’s involvent, he could only suppress his fury.

Because he left the Capital without applying top-grade ointnt in ti, a large scar now remained on his neck.

Xuexue looked puzzled: “Adulterer? What adulterer? Fourth Prince, it seems your eyes are bad, but your brain isn’t, is it? How can you tell such blatant lies?”

“Keep pretending! Just wait for the good news tomorrow,” said the Fourth Prince as he turned to leave.

Suddenly, Xuexue hugged him tightly and shouted loudly, “Ah…! Help! The Fourth Prince is assaulting .”

Due to the horse blocking part of the view, no one saw Xuexue was the one to hug the Fourth Prince first. The scene observed was the Fourth Prince holding Xuexue with malicious intent.

Instantly, the street erupted. Initially, people were already displeased by the Fourth Prince and his subordinates recklessly riding down the street. This event only fueled their anger, leading them to point and accuse the Fourth Prince…

“How can the Fourth Prince act like this! Madam Situ is the War Prince’s woman, showing disrespect to her is showing disrespect to the War Prince.”

“Exactly; the War Prince has done so much for Moli Country, defending it loyally. How can the Fourth Prince treat him like this!”

“Don’t you know? Ever since the Fourth Prince lost an eye, he’s beco quite peculiar, spreading rumors that it was the War Prince who caused it. His actions today might just be his revenge against the War Prince!”

“How can natural disasters or man-made calamities be blad on the Prince?”
