Capítulo 1856: Chapter 1856: War Prince’s Mansion
“Idiots, idiots, a bunch of idiots, can’t catch , can you?” Birdy flew back and circled above them.
The luxurious carriage slowly ca to a stop at the entrance of the War Prince’s Mansion.
A few guards wanted to catch Birdy but didn’t dare to move, looking quite comical.
Xuexue stepped down from the carriage, and only then did the guards realize Madam Situ had returned, making them even more afraid to move.
Seeing Xuexue return, Birdy beca even more brazen, simply fluttering atop the guards’ heads…
“Oh my! Where did this stinky bird co from? Why is it so annoying?” The guard impatiently reached out to swat away the bird from his head. In front of the master, as a lowly guard, he dared not make a single move.
“You’re the stinky one, idiot, idiot.” Birdy chirped, ssing up his hair with its claws.
In an instant, a few guards were left disheveled by Birdy’s claws, incredibly embarrassed.
What frustrated them most was that they couldn’t even swear in front of the madam, no matter how angry they got.
Xuexue looked up and called out to Birdy, “Xiao Jiu, what are you doing? Causing trouble again.”
Earlier, when they stopped at the street corner to buy so things, Xiao Jiu had flown back on its own because Xuexue had told it that the biggest house two streets ahead was their ho. This little bird was really clever, finding its way back on its own.
Seeing its master return, Birdy spread its wings, flapping them as it flew to Xuexue and perched on her shoulder, shrilling, “Master, master, they’re all idiots. I ca back, and nobody even welcod .”
Not getting caught was lucky enough, and a little bird still wanted a welco?
Xuexue laughed, “They don’t know you; how could they welco you!”
“But they’re all bad guys, trying to catch . Master, do they want to roast Birdy too?”
Xuexue nodded, “There’s indeed that risk. You need to be careful and fly higher so they don’t catch you, or you might end up as roasted bird at.”
“Master, you’re the lady of the house; you must protect .”
“Yes, I will, but you must also be careful. There are too many people in the mansion, and who knows who might harbor ill intentions, always thinking of eating roast bird. So these things are unavoidable; you must rely on yourself.”
“Xiao Jiu knows, Xiao Jiu knows, these ones at the entrance aren’t good people.”
The originally furious guards were stunned to witness this scene. It turned out this little bird belonged to Madam Situ. The madam was incredible; where did she find such a bird that could speak human words and even curse people?
Then, they all knelt on the ground, admitting fault to Xuexue, “Madam, we were wrong. We didn’t know this little bird was yours. We were too impudent; please punish us.”
At this mont, the guards were very relieved they hadn’t caught Birdy. If they had hurt it, they wouldn’t be able to explain to the madam.
Madam Situ was the eldest legitimate daughter of the General’s Mansion and the only official wife in the War Prince’s Mansion.
Most importantly, the Prince was very fond of her. What’s more, she might soday beco the Princess Consort. So, the guards knew very clearly not to offend Madam Situ or the future lady of the house, as it would lead to a dead end in the War Prince’s Mansion.
Xuexue smiled, “No guilt for the unaware; everyone, get up!”
The guards, despite being made a fool of by the bird, were not further reprimanded by Xuexue.
“Thank you, madam.” The guards stood up, standing respectfully on both sides. Despite their serious expressions, due to Birdy’s antics earlier, so had disheveled hair; so had crooked hats and their clothes in disarray, greatly ruining their image.
