Chapter 497: Chapter 334 Landlord_2
At last, it was Guo Ran who paid.
Jiang Ning knew she had just started working, her salary wasn’t high, and she loved buying snacks. The naive Xue Yuantong constantly ate her snacks.
It seed that today’s al cost was another blow to her already tight finances.
After finishing the al, Guo Ran rembered to ask, “What will Xue Yuantong eat this evening? Shouldn’t we buy sothing for her?”
Jiang Ning replied, “No worries, let her be hungry.”
Guo Ran said, “Sure.”
Of course, Jiang Ning wouldn’t really let Xue Yuantong starve.
She was just not hungry now, but she guessed that she would be hungry during the evening self-study.
Jiang Ning had sent Shao Shuangshuang a ssage beforehand to have the company cafeteria deliver a portion when the ti ca.
…
When they arrived at school, Jiang Ning and Guo Ran went their separate ways in front of Building 3.
Guo Ran continued her role as a chemistry teacher.
Jiang Ning continued as a student in Grade 1 Class 8.
At the back of the classroom,
Guo Kunnan and Ma Shicheng, along with others, were gathered, chatting.
“Brother Ma, do you know the girl who was in the relay race this afternoon?” Guo Kunnan asked.
Actually, he was more interested in the chemistry teacher, Guo Ran, but since she was a teacher, he had to shift his attention to another girl.
Ma Shicheng replied, “ng Ziyun from Class 5, she’s quite interesting.”
Guo Kunnan said, “I know her na is ng Ziyun, but I want more detailed information, like, her past.”
After a two-second silence, Ma Shicheng responded, “Brother Nan, isn’t that a bit much?”
Guo Kunnan imdiately assured, “Brother Ma, don’t you trust my character? Ask anyone here, what kind of person is Brother Nan?”
Cui Yu teased, “How aweso is your Brother Kunnan?”
Ma Shicheng was speechless; he gestured for Wang Longlong to speak since he was best at gathering intelligence.
Wang Longlong thought back to when he was in elentary school, when ng Ziyun had hit his classmate in front of him, and he hadn’t dared to retaliate.
Seeing Wang Longlong’s face change, Ma Shicheng wanted to say sothing, but Wang Longlong, as if overcoming sothing, revealed:
“I know about ng Ziyun.”
Guo Kunnan exclaid, “Brother Long never disappoints .”
“Tell us about her, I want to know.”
Wang Longlong, facing everyone’s curiosity, slowly started, “Let tell you about her in elentary school. ng Ziyun was in our school.”
As soon as he said this, everyone imdiately understood, “So she was a troublemaker?”
Cui Yu said, “I had a few in my elentary school too. Everyone I know of ended up dropping out and probably works on construction sites now.”
Wang Longlong continued, “Back then, our school had a group called ‘Crying Blood Roses,’ and the leader was called ‘Blood Rose.'”
“There were also ‘Black Rose’ and ‘White Rose.'”
Guo Kunnan joked, “Was ng Ziyun the ‘Purple Rose’?”
Wang Longlong replied, “You guessed right.”
“Back then, ‘Crying Blood Roses’ was really fierce, and ng Ziyun played an important role in it.”
“Maybe she has changed now, but I’m not too fond of her.”
Cui Yu cheerfully said, “She had an altercation with today. Just wait, guys. Once she falls into my hands, I’ll show you how I ta the Purple Rose!”
The others fantasized about how they would subdue the rose.
Zhang Chi ran over, whispered mysteriously, “Guys, did you know? Our school has peach trees!”
Wang Longlong added, “And they are nectarine trees.”
Guo Kunnan comnted, “Nectarines are tasty. Just rinse them once and eat, unlike fuzzy peaches that you have to peel.”
Zhang Chi invited, “Guys, want to try so?”
“No way, the rule is clearly stated, whoever dares to steal peaches will be punished,” Wang Longlong wasn’t ready to take the risk.
Guo Kunnan declined, “I heard there are caras, anyone who dares to steal will definitely get caught.”
Everyone was in school studying; it wasn’t worth breaking the rules over a few peaches and courting trouble.
Zhang Chi defiantly said, “Am I afraid of them?”
Cui Yu, annoyed, retorted, “Go ahead and try.”
Zhang Chi responded, “I’ll try then.”
…
Evening self-study started.
Huang Zhongfei was the first to the lectern, announced tomorrow’s sports events, which included long-distance running and several key event finals, as well as a tug-of-war that everyone would participate in.
After he finished, he saw the classroom was still noisy.
These two days of sports activities, and another day of sports activities tomorrow, followed by a small vacation, made everyone restless and completely unable to focus on studies.
In the midst of chaos, Chen Qian, studying alone, beca an outlier.
Huang Zhongfei announced, “I’ve spoken with our horoom teacher, and tonight everyone can watch a movie!”
Upon hearing this, the students in the class were thrilled, and the classroom imdiately erupted into excitent.
Chen Siqing turned her head, smiling happily, “Jiang Ning, we’re watching a movie tonight!”
Bai Yuxia was also looking at him, still rembering the scene from the afternoon where Jiang Ning had carried the chemistry teacher while running. She was a bit curious, wondering what it felt like to run while carrying a teacher?
But she was too embarrassed to ask such a blunt question in person.
How would Jiang Ning view her if she asked it out loud?
Huang Zhongfei got the mory card ready and let everyone choose the movie.
Zhang Chi called out, “A horror movie, let’s watch sothing thrilling.”
Cui Yu shouted, “Watch an art film!”
ng Gui asked, “The kind of art film I’m thinking of?”
Pang Jiao yelled, “Why watch a horror movie? It’s so scary!”
Cui Yu muttered internally, ‘Your presence is a horror movie!’
In a muffled yet bass-heavy soft voice, Pang Jiao expressed, “I don’t want to watch a horror movie; I’d get scared and hide in my brother’s arms!”
Square-faced Zhang Yifei teased, “Jiaojiao, you look so cute clinging to others like a little bird.”
Wu Xiaoqi nearly gagged.
From the back of the classroom, an unknown voice said, “I think it’s more like leaning on a tower!”
“Ha ha ha!” Everyone burst into laughter.
Pang Jiao’s large head swiveled to the back row and she yelled, “Who said that? Who are you?”
However, no one responded.
The students continued to vocally debate their movie choices.
…
Amid the chaos, in the southwest corner of the classroom where Jiang Ning was secluded, there was no involvent in the dispute.
He was holding a book, indifferent to the surrounding noise.
His desk-mate, Yuantong, laid her head on the desk, looking utterly bored.
She called out to Jiang Ning, but unfortunately, her voice was too soft, drowned out by the myriad other sounds.
Yet, Jiang Ning caught it, and he deployed a Spiritual Power Formation to reduce and eliminate the noise from all directions.
“What’s up?” Jiang Ning asked her.
“I want to go to the sports field tomorrow.” She had been ssing around in the school building for two days and thought it was ti to inspect the sports field.
To see how the foremost under her command, Jiang Ning, was performing, and whether he was tarnishing her reputation.
“Then co over, we have a tug-of-war tomorrow,” Jiang Ning said.
Yuantong retorted, “Let’s see what it ans to have Divine Power inhabiting a body.”
Jiang Ning snickered, doubting her strength.
Yuantong imdiately glared at him furiously, as Jiang Ning always looked down on her!
“Are you having fun these days?” Yuantong suddenly realized she had been playing around for two whole days!
Jiang Ning boasted, “Don’t even ntion how fun it’s been.”
“Psh, I’ve had more fun than you,” Yuantong contested.
Jiang Ning continued reading his book.
Yuantong stopped asking, her small body still lying on the desk.
The class was still choosing a movie, with the suggestions being Zhang Chi’s horror film, Cui Yu’s art film, Yu Wen’s romance film, and Guo Kunnan’s disaster film, each pulling in a different direction.
The students made quite a ruckus.
Yuantong lay comfortably, yet occasionally looked out the window, stealthily giggling, appearing quite mischievous.
After repeating this a few tis, Jiang Ning thought she was looking at the scenery outside and said,
“If you want to look, we can switch seats.”
Yuantong shook her head.
Jiang Ning asked, “Hmm?”
Yuantong giggled, “Silly, I’m looking at you.”
At night, the outside was dark, and the room was brightly lit, which gave the glass a mirror-like property, perfect for Yuxuantong to see Jiang Ning’s profile.
Jiang Ning was puzzled, “I’m right here, what’s the point of looking at the glass?”
Yuantong earnestly replied, “I want to see what you look like when you can’t see .”
She found it fascinating to observe Jiang Ning’s face, expression, and actions from another perspective.
With her superb intelligence, she could easily probe Jiang Ning’s true nature.
Jiang Ning asked, “So what do I look like?”
Yuantong, pretending to calculate with her pinky, made up, “I’d say you have a full forehead, stand like a graceful poplar, and possess an extraordinary deanor…”
Jiang Ning retorted, “Nonsense, stop looking.”
Yuantong turned her head away, “Hmph, I care about it, I won’t look at you anymore!”
