Chapter 498: Chapter 335: This is, My Strategy!
Evening self-study, Classroom 8.
Jiang Ning was talking to Xue Yuantong when suddenly, noise from outside the Array disrupted them, and he slowly deactivated the Spirit Array.
The myriad noises in the classroom vanished, leaving only the two of them arguing relentlessly.
Turns out, it was Cui Yu and Zhang Chi who had started quarreling.
Bai Yuxia and her friends were watching the excitent, and her older sister, Chen Siqing, had a plum candy in her mouth, her little tongue skillfully swirling it around.
Zhang Chi launched a personal attack, “Have you no sha at all!”
“Didn’t you forget about the last ti you watched a movie during English class and got slapped by Teacher Chen Haiyang?”
“You’re watching an art film tonight, how do you have the face to say that?”
Zhang Chi’s words were like knives, stabbing into Cui Yu’s heart.
He had disliked Cui Yu for a long ti, jumping around in the classroom every day and causing trouble with students from other classes.
Compared to him, Cui Yu was nothing but a rotten person!
Absolutely shaless!
Cui Yu still grinned cheekily, “And you’re acting all mighty? Like that ti you got cornered by a dozen students from our grade for selling a router.”
“Look at Shen Xu from Class 9, his business is booming. And then there’s you, a complete waste!”
“If I had you as my son, I’d slap you right across the face!”
At the back of the classroom, Hu Jun and Guo Kunnan were watching the excitent with no intention of intervening.
Ma Shicheng, who was playing gas, got distracted, he lifted his head, puzzled,
“Aren’t we supposed to be choosing a movie?”
Wang Longlong said excitedly, “Brother Ma, isn’t this better than a movie?”
If the two were competing on who could be more shaless, Cui Yu clearly had the upper hand.
Zhang Chi suddenly stood up, pointing at him, and shouted loudly, “Just try slapping , see what happens!”
“Co on, slap !” he thrust his face forward.
Indeed, Cui Yu didn’t slap him; he wasn’t stupid. If he were to strike first, should it escalate, he’d bear the larger bla.
“You want to slap you, so I should slap you?”
“I’d be damned to have a son like you!” Cui Yu retorted cunningly.
Zhang Chi charged out of his seat, and the few boys around didn’t stop him, a fight seed imminent.
Huang Zhongfei hurriedly went to intervene, spreading his arms to block Zhang Chi’s path,
“There’s a sports et soon, and alumni might still be around the school. If this gets out of hand, you might get expelled.”
At the ntion of expulsion, Zhang Chi notably restrained himself and stopped moving.
“Be more careful from now on!”
Leaving those words behind, Zhang Chi walked away with a stern face.
Huang Zhongfei sighed in relief and, for so reason, he felt an urge to cry tears of joy.
Finally, as the class monitor of Class 8, he had successfully quelled a dispute.
He suddenly thought, ‘I just wish the alumni were always here.’
Seeing Zhang Chi leave, a flash of anger crossed Cui Yu’s face:
‘Zhang Chi, just you wait!’
After the class cald down, Huang Zhongfei decided against letting everyone choose a movie again; who would have thought that picking a movie could almost lead to a fight?
He made a decision, “We’ll watch a sci-fi movie. I have two good ones on my USB drive, one is ‘2012’, and the other is ‘The Day After Tomorrow’.”
Dan Kaiquan suggested, “Let’s watch ‘2012’. I heard it’s excellently produced and that our country was involved in the production.”
Dong Qingfeng said with a sense of superiority, “I’ve already watched it. I saw it as soon as it ca out. The effects were stunning; I went to the cinema to watch it.”
After hearing this, Dan Kaiquan remained silent; he ca from a town in Hui Province, not as developed as the coastal regions, and there was no cinema in his town.
To watch movies, he could only take a bus to the county or the city.
But a movie ticket costing tens, which was enough for several days’ als, how could he justify spending that?
Dan Kaiquan was 16 years old, and he had never been to a cinema.
At the back, Ma Shicheng shouted, “Let’s watch ‘The Day After Tomorrow’, the ‘2012’ movie is too long, we can’t finish it during the evening self-study.”
Huang Zhongfei decided, “Okay.”
Dong Qingfeng elaborated, “The special effects in this movie aren’t bad either. With our country’s capabilities, it will take another twenty years to produce these effects.”
Wang Yongle comnted, “We don’t have any sci-fi movies. Look at what’s out there, all trashy artsy films, pretentiously profound, I can’t stand them.”
Dong Qingfeng added, “The technology isn’t there yet. They always advertise how much is invested, but in the end, it’s all garbage.”
“Anyway, I wouldn’t spend a penny on these directors’ works.”
Dan Kaiquan, previously silent, suddenly spoke, “I believe that in the future, there will definitely be big-budget sci-fi movies dostically, because by then, we are the main audience who spend money on movies; I am a viewer.”
Hearing this, Dong Qingfeng couldn’t help but chuckle, “You’ll understand later, like movies, gas, these things, as long as they can make money being hastily made, why would any producer put in effort?”
Amidst the idle chat, Huang Zhongfei started the movie.
The classroom lights went out, plunging them into darkness, only the screen beside the blackboard at the front flickering with the movie’s opening scenes.
Chen Qian put down his textbook, leaning back against the desk, closed his eyes to recall the problems he had solved, and in his mind, he transford the problems, calculating the possible pitfalls that might appear in the exam.
At the back.
Wang Longlong looked at the screen and sighed, “Brother Ma, I still prefer the darkness.”
Ma Shicheng was playing a ga, playing at this ti provided the ultimate enjoynt.
Guo Kunnan took a photo of the classroom and sent it to Xu Yan from Class 11: “We’re watching a movie .”
Xu Yan hadn’t replied to his ssages.
Guo Kunnan laughed, “Haha, we’re watching a sci-fi film, it’s so cool !”
He kept on ssaging, “Have you been to the cinema?”
“I haven’t, but I plan to go soon, gotta keep up with the trends .”
Still, no reply.
Guo Kunnan continued, undismayed, sharing bits of his life.
…
Xue Yuantong was resting for a while, then suddenly nudged Jiang Ning and whispered,
“Are you hungry?”
Jiang Ning replied, “I’m not hungry, but I’m guessing you are.”
Xue Yuantong retorted, “I’m not hungry, I’ve got so cookies here, was thinking of sharing them with you.”
She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small biscuit wrapped in clear packaging.
