At three o’clock, Jiang Xinyu woke the three children up.

Wei Kaiyun pumped out so not-too-cold water from the well in the yard to let them wash up, and filled the water bottles with the leftover cold water. The family of five set off for ho.

Although everyone wore straw hats when they arrived ho, their faces were still flushed red.

The water in the yard had been heated by the sun, so the children could play with water.

"Wife, I’ll go buy the tickets."

"Alright, also pick up the photograph."

After sending Wei Kaiyun off, Jiang Xinyu watched the three children playing happily and then went into the bathroom.

Wei Kaiyun went straight to the train station. For such a short distance, buying a sleeper ticket was quite unrealistic. Left with no choice, he went to find an acquaintance.

"Xiao Wei? We haven’t seen each other for nearly ten years. I heard you’re in S City?"

"Yes, working over there. Director Wu, I ca to ask for your help."

"Just tell what’s up. No need to be polite." When he had work troubles and feared he’d be fired, Wei Kaiyun had found soone to help resolve the issue, but he left before Wu even got to thank him. Finally, they t again.

"Director Wu, I’d like to buy four sleeper tickets to T City."

"That’s all?"

Wei Kaiyun nodded, thinking that if not for the well-being of the two children, he wouldn’t have co to ask for help.

"Wait here, I’ll get them for you."

"Director Wu, I’ll pay for them." He couldn’t let others incur the expense.

In the end, he couldn’t go against it. Together, they went to the ticket booth and bought sleeper tickets for tomorrow at 8 AM, with another trip at 3 PM, but they’d have to disembark during the day.

Wei Kaiyun considered that disembarking during the day would be too conspicuous, given his many acquaintances in T City, so he preferred nightti.

After buying the tickets, he went to the photo studio. The photographs were split into two sets: one for the four of them and one for Han Xiangjun and his son.

Their family photos were printed double copies. Though they couldn’t keep them close, they could rely on the photos to ease their longing.

Upon returning ho, Han Xiangjun had already arrived, keeping the three kids entertained with comic books, absorbed despite his age.

"You have this hobby?"

"Haha, yes, they’re quite interesting." It was straightforward without scheming, which was quite nice.

"Here, I picked up the photographs."

Han Xiangjun took them, flipping through them, "Xiao Wei, doesn’t Feifei look just like a daughter to ? You should give her to , best as a daughter-in-law."

"Don’t even think about it. When my daughter seeks a partner, I’ll be the one deciding."

"What’s wrong with our Jianbin?"

"I don’t know. We’ll talk once they’ve grown and their personalities are fixed."

"How could my son be lacking?"

Wei Kaiyun remained silent. Nothing could be deduced now, and the children’s preferences would be paramount in the future.

Jiang Feifei listened on, secretly shrugging, genuinely seeing Han Jianbin as a child, unable to imagine them as a couple.

"Xiao Wei, should we go to the courtyard for dinner tonight? They’re serving dog at."

"Pick another place, Xinyu doesn’t eat dog at or rabbit at."

"The kids could try a taste. Ms. Jiang doesn’t eat dog at, but there are other dishes."

"Better not. She’s soft-hearted and loves dogs."

"How about the Russian restaurant? Beef soup should be okay, right?"

"Better to ask the kids."

In the end, the three children chose the braised at shop, mainly because Shi Jing and Jianbin liked it, and Jiang Feifei didn’t mind.

"I’ll have soone send you off tomorrow morning."

"Okay, make it seven o’clock. The train is at eight."

Despite Han Jianbin’s reluctance, they finally went ho, with the three children agreeing to spend the winter holidays together.

At night, the couple cherished these monts together deeply. They had less and less ti together, facing imminent separation, which Jiang Xinyu also deeply regretted.

The next day at half past five, Wei Kaiyun got up to help his wife boil water and went out to buy breakfast.

The couple had already agreed not to bring food on the train due to the heat, planning to make do in the restaurant car for several als.

After the two children got up, they packed their belongings. This ti, they carried an extra bag back, filled with toys, comic books, and exquisite study supplies bought in the Capital.

Just as the family of four finished breakfast, the door was knocked.

"Why are you two here?"

"This kid pestered all night to send his siblings off; hence, we two are here now."

"Have you eaten breakfast?"

"Yes, Jianbin even brought so for you, freshly baked sesa seed cakes. I thought they could last well, so I bought twenty for you to have on the train."

Shi Jing and Feifei were naturally delighted to see Han Jianbin coming in, and the three of them chattered excitedly.

Wei Kaiyun and Han Xiangjun took charge of moving the luggage, arriving at the station at seven forty.

"I’ll get you on the train quicker."

"Alright, borrow a cart then." Wei Kaiyun didn’t stand on ceremony with Han Xiangjun.

The Han father and son watched the departing train, "Dad, I like Uncle Wei’s family."

"Mm, then keep interacting with them. Co on, let’s head ho."

Though Han Xiangjun would suggest Feifei as a daughter-in-law to Wei Kaiyun, he never brought it up with his son.

After sending the Wei family off, Han Xiangjun would take Han Jianbin out every ti, which was great. Young children have their advantages, learning early broadens their experiences, reducing future missteps. This was pure straightforward male education.

The family of four stayed on the train for a day and half the night before disembarking.

The station wasn’t close to ho, and the two children sensibly carried a bag, with Jiang Xinyu holding two, and the rest on Wei Kaiyun.

He had already prepared a rope, with the electric fan strapped to him and his hands holding three bags.

Within five minutes, he took the bag from the children’s hands, "Feifei, are you tired? Dad can carry you."

Jiang Feifei was deeply moved, this was paternal affection.

"No, I can walk with my brother."

Walking along, Jiang Xinyu chatted with the two children, fearing they might be scared in the dark.

By the ti the family of four arrived ho, it was already past two in the morning.

Electricity had already been connected here since sixty-five, thanks to Wang Ailing’s help.

At the ti, Jiang Xinyu felt fortunate that Wang Ailing had the house key.

Everything was placed into the west room, including the packages Jiang Xinyu had mailed.

Wei Kaiyun pumped water while Jiang Xinyu boiled water and tidied the kang.

"My sister must have helped tidy up. There’s not much dust at ho."

"Haha, everyone knows you love cleanliness."

The family of four took a bath and by three thirty, with the temperature not requiring a fan.

When Jiang Xinyu woke up, it was already eight in the morning.

Looking at the three n sleeping beside her, she quietly got up, needing to go out and prepare so food, as there was nothing at ho.
