Wei Kaiyun opened his eyes and saw his wife already dressed, "I’ll go make breakfast."

"No need, stay ho with the two kids. I’ll go buy breakfast and so groceries."

Wei Kaiyun thought for a mont, "I’ll take the two kids to eat breakfast and bring it back for you. You can go buy groceries."

"Alright, your bicycle is still in the side room."

"No need, your bike is not yet unpacked; you should ride mine. The sooner you go, the sooner you’ll be back."

Jiang Xinyu first went to the kitchen and found where she had stored the soy sauce bottles and such. Wei Kaiyun helped tie two baskets to both sides of the bike’s rear.

She headed straight to the supply and sales cooperative. She saw many old acquaintances.

"Director Jiang? Are you Director Jiang?"

"Yes, Xiao Li, I’m back. Here are soy sauce and vinegar bottles; help get one pound of each. I’ll go find your Secretary Hao."

"Alright, Director Jiang, co back later, everyone misses you."

"Yes, I miss you all too."

The sales clerks watched Jiang Xinyu heading to the back, "Director Jiang looks much prettier."

"I think so too."

Jiang Xinyu went straight into She Xiaoyun’s office.

"Sister She!"

"Ah, great, you’re finally back, you’ve grown taller and prettier." She Xiaoyun, upon hearing her voice, excitedly stood up and ca over to hold Jiang Xinyu’s hand.

"Sister She, you haven’t changed either, still as pretty."

"Haha, really? No way, I’m getting old. When did you co back?"

"I got ho at midnight, now I’m here to shop, there’s nothing at ho."

"What do you need? Co on, I’ll prepare everything for you today."

"We’re missing everything. I really don’t have ti to chat much, let’s have a gathering at the restaurant in three nights."

"Alright."

Even after four years apart, there was no sense of unfamiliarity between them.

In the end, Jiang Xinyu bought five pounds of bean oil, two pounds of sweet bean paste, soy sauce, vinegar, salt, five pounds of eggs, and also bought potatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, Chinese cabbage, and chives.

"Sister She, folks, I’ll co another day, I still have things to do."

"Ok, I’ll call to inform them."

"Alright."

Jiang Xinyu went to the grain station, used her food tickets to buy five pounds each of sorghum rice, red beans, green beans, and millet. She didn’t get anything else, planning to take more from the storage space.

She biked ho. When she reached the gate and saw it was locked, she thought it was a good opportunity. She still considered taking out rice flour and noodles while knocking.

She hurriedly opened the door, pushed the bike into the yard, and took out fifty pounds of rice, fifty pounds of flour, ten pounds of noodles, ten pounds of peanut oil, two pounds of at, and two pounds of shrimp skin should be enough.

Just after tidying up, Wei Kaiyun returned with the two kids; they brought back fried dough sticks and soybean pudding for Jiang Xinyu.

"Wife, let’s eat first."

"Mm, I’m actually a bit hungry now."

"Wife, you really got a lot of good stuff when you went out."

"Yeah, Secretary She helped a lot."

While his wife ate, Wei Kaiyun tidied up the yard. The vegetable garden had only onions, no other vegetables, but it was clean with no weeds.

The two kids were blowing the electric fan, reading comic books.

Jiang Xinyu finished what wasn’t breakfast at breakfast ti, then started tidying up the side room, opening the packages sent back from the west room to find blankets and clothes, placing them all neatly in the side room.

In another side room were things brought back by Master Shang, who must have left after dropping them off. Wei Kaiyun cleaned them all up.

"Wife, take a break, I’ll tidy up the west room." With the midnight train, he wanted to get closer with his wife, so he needed to clean up the west room quickly.

"Alright, I’ll go make dinner, is there anything you all want to eat?"

"Mom, I’ll help Dad with the chores."

"Okay, how about Mom makes dumplings for you? Chives, eggs, and shrimp dumplings."

"Sounds good."

The brother and sister really helped Wei Kaiyun with the chores. The three of them worked quickly, and as soon as the west room was clean, Jiang Xinyu was ready to start making dumplings.

After that, the father and his two kids cleaned the glass in the east room, hung the curtains and door curtains. The house was now very clean.

Wei Kaiyun prepared bath water for the children, and then the family of four sat at the dining table, with the electric fan blowing, eating dumplings.

"Dad, when is Master Shang coming back? Wasn’t he supposed to return first? Why isn’t he at ho?"

"He might have gone to visit friends, don’t worry, Master Shang will be back soon."

"I miss him." Jiang Feifei truly missed that knowledgeable old gentleman.

After lunch, the whole family was exhausted. The two kids lay in the west room, the couple lay in the east room.

Wei Kaiyun held his wife’s hand, "Xinyu, my train is at midnight today. This afternoon I’ll take you to that house."

"Leaving today?" Jiang Xinyu was reluctant.

Since they confird their relationship, they’ve spent more ti apart than together.

Wei Kaiyun held his slightly sad wife. "I’ll be back soon, wife. Shall I transfer back?"

"Can you? I’ll verify after I start work; otherwise, I’ll transfer to the Managent Bureau, though I feel embarrassed." Both were thinking about being together.

"Let’s see how it goes. The Managent Bureau is quite chaotic." Wei Kaiyun was thinking he wanted his wife with him, but that one above was practically under house arrest and already had many reassigned. He was afraid he would also be affected, and then his wife would suffer along with him.

They held each other in silence. Jiang Xinyu knew the significant ups and downs that one above experienced, and the chances of Wei Kaiyun being affected were high.

She didn’t mind accompanying him, but what about the two kids? What would happen to them?

"Wife, let’s go now, just take you to know the place, tell you where things are hidden, so we can hurry back before the kids wake up."

"Alright."

The couple got up, went to the west room, saw the children sleeping peacefully, Jiang Xinyu left a note.

Actually, Wei Kaiyun’s house was not far from here; it only took them ten minutes by bike.

The yard was even more desolate. "Once I take the things out, I still plan to sell this house. Otherwise, ten years later it’ll still be a ruin."

"Let’s keep it, it won’t sell for much anyway. In the future, have soone clean it up."

Jiang Xinyu didn’t mind, either way was fine. Wei Kaiyun had his reasons for keeping it.

Wei Kaiyun led her into the side room; here were a few cabinets. Wei Kaiyun moved the one in the middle, underneath was a different stone slab.

Wei Kaiyun wanted to pull it open, but Jiang Xinyu stopped him, "Let try. When you’re gone, I’ll have to do it myself."

Wei Kaiyun stepped back; Jiang Xinyu pulled on the iron chain, exerted force to lift it up. Though it was heavy, she managed to open it.
