"Is the patient in bed 12 awake?" The nurse’s tily inquiry dissolved Ye Xuan’s embarrassnt, and he quickly replied, "Just woke up."
"Never seen such a family mber; won’t let nurses in, yet doesn’t take responsibility. Didn’t I remind you to let us know imdiately once the patient wakes up?" The nurse muttered her dissatisfaction as she left.
In the dim glow of the small bedside lamp, Ye Xuan’s wheatish skin could still be seen faintly blushing. Luo Ye chuckled, "You didn’t allow the nurse to co in?"
"Mhm." Ye Xuan wrung out a warm washcloth, gently wiping it across Luo Ye’s face, "I have experience in taking care of patients, I won’t hurt you."
Luo Ye knew he ant turning her over for care and scoffed, "Forget it. I can only lie flat for six hours after surgery; you couldn’t hurt if you tried."
With his face blushing, Ye Xuan didn’t say a word. He rinsed the washcloth and continued to wipe her cheeks... rinsed the washcloth again, grabbed her arm, which didn’t have an IV, and wiped it. Luo Ye’s eyes rolled, following his movents, curious to see how he would continue.
Ye Xuan felt very awkward under her gaze, put down the washcloth, and covered her eyes with his hand, "Keep sleeping."
"No, the doctor will be here soon." Luo Ye giggled, "Soone’s shy, oh haha, soone’s shy..."
Ye Xuan’s hand moved up, gently massaging her head, "Does your head feel heavy from lying down?"
"It’s fine." Luo Ye comfortably closed her eyes, dimples at the corner of her lips barely visible. Despite just having surgery, her complexion was rosy and honeyed. Ye Xuan couldn’t help but to kiss her forehead, whispering, "Trust , I’ll take good care of you."
His double-entendre promise was laden with deep affection. Luo Ye couldn’t help but nod in agreent, no longer ntioning the need for soone else to co over.
A satisfied smile spread across Ye Xuan’s lips. Luo Ye opened her eyes just in ti to et his shining gaze, her own gaze pausing before she chuckled, "Trouble!"
"I’ve kept track of it all; we’ll settle it all when you’re better." Ye Xuan took a cotton swab, dampened her lips with it, intentionally dabbing it several tis. Luo Ye’s cheeks flushed a sudden crimson, she coughed unnaturally, then closed her eyes and stopped talking.
"Not bad, very attentive."
A graceful and delicate-looking female doctor, around 28 or 29 years old, walked in, followed by the nurse who was dissatisfied with the Handso Ye. Upon hearing the doctor’s praise, the nurse pursed her lips, just as she caught Luo Ye’s dark eyes, and, feeling embarrassed, gave a small laugh, "Bed 12, this is your chief physician, Director Hua Rong."
"Hello, Dr. Hua." Luo Ye hurried to greet her, Ye Xuan stood up, "Dr. Hua, I’ve been keeping an eye on all the vital signs, they’re pretty normal."
"You should have still called to check on her, I am her chief physician." Hua Rong checked the data on the monitors, observed Luo Ye’s complexion, asked about her condition, then turned to Ye Xuan, "Since you don’t want our nurse to enter, you can’t sleep tonight. You must constantly monitor the changes in the data, watch the IV drip and the drainage bag closely, as well as the catheter bag."
"No problem."
"You can massage her head, but don’t touch her body for now, as it could be problematic if you can’t control your strength."

"Fiancé," Ye Xuan replied concisely.
"Good, then take good care of her." A flicker of doubt crossed Hua Rong’s eyes, but she nodded reassuringly and walked out. The nurse quickly followed, throwing a skeptical glance at Luo Ye and Ye Xuan before leaving incredulously.
Luo Ye glared at Ye Xuan, "What ti is it?"
"It’s eight-thirty, three and a half more hours, and you can use a pillow. Do you want to sleep?"
"I’m a bit tired; I’ll sleep for a bit." Having said this, Luo Ye closed her eyes, and in a few monts, her breathing beca even. Ye Xuan gently stroked her hair, his eyes full of tenderness.
