Before I passed out, I rember hearing soone shouting sothing about ’Jiang Xue and sister-in-law.’ I don’t know if it was soone nad Jiang Xue who saved , or those who were looking for Jiang Xue.
This is a hospital, maybe the doctor would know. So, Nangong Chen pressed the bell at the bedside. In no ti, a nurse ca in, saw that Nangong Chen was awake, and smiled, asking, "Comrade, you’re awake?"
"Where am I?" Nangong Chen asked with a smile. Although his wounds hurt a bit, he looked very pleasant when he smiled, which made the nurse stare in a daze, not snapping out of it for a long ti.
Seeing that the nurse hadn’t answered his question and was still in a daze, Nangong Chen gently cleared his throat.
It was only then that the nurse snapped back to reality and, sowhat embarrassed, said, "This is our town’s hospital."
After she said this, her face turned slightly red. After all, she was in her thirties, yet she was still getting infatuated like a child. If her husband knew, who knows how he would tease her.
The nurse, thinking this, reluctantly withdrew her gaze from Nangong Chen’s face. Truth be told, this man was indeed very handso.
In her whole life, it was the first ti she had seen such a good-looking man.
"The town’s hospital?"
"That’s right!"
"Do you know who brought here?" Nangong Chen asked the question he had been wanting to know: who saved him.
"Oh, it was a few soldiers who brought you here. Right, with the soldiers, there was also a woman, I think her na is Jiang Xue."
As expected, it was Jiang Xue. It seed he didn’t mishear before passing out; there indeed were people looking for soone nad Jiang Xue. What he didn’t expect was that those looking for Jiang Xue were soldiers.
Judging from this, Jiang Xue was either a soldier or a serviceman’s family mber.
Thinking this, Nangong Chen thanked the nurse and then closed his eyes. He stayed in the hospital for one night, thankfully without any inflammation in his wounds.
The next morning, the doctor ca to do rounds. Seeing his injuries were healing well and that he was clear-headed, they asked for his na and whether he needed family to co to take care of him.
Nangong Chen did give his na but declined the offer for family assistance. However, he told the doctor he could manage on his own.
Seeing that Nangong Chen insisted on not having family over, the doctor didn’t press further, gave so instructions, and left the room. After the round, the nurse started administering IV fluids to Nangong Chen.
By this ti, Jiang Xue and Mu Siwu, having had breakfast, arrived at the hospital and entered Nangong Chen’s room. The nurse recognized Jiang Xue, smiled upon seeing her, and said, "Jiang Xue, you are here!"
"Yes!" Jiang Xue nodded and then glanced at Nangong Chen, who was lying on the bed, and asked, "How is he doing?"
"Not bad, the doctor checked in the morning and said he’s recovering well."
"Thank you."
"You’re welco!"
After the nurse finished speaking with Jiang Xue, she pushed the IV cart to another room. It was then that Nangong Chen had the chance to seriously observe Jiang Xue.
At first glance, she looked quite captivating. Jiang Xue appeared young and was pretty. Her attire and deanor didn’t quite match those of local people; she resembled more of soone who grew up in a city.
"Hello, I’m Jiang Xue!" Jiang Xue noticed Nangong Chen looking at her and took the initiative to introduce herself. Afterward, she pointed to Mu Siwu next to her and said, "This is my dad."
